Really liked the Black Mamba from @rawkitchenbar! The squid ink fried rice actually had pretty good wokhey (whether intended or not) and the prawns was plump and fresh. The fermented sambal really was the star that brought everything together, and really packed a punch.
The Seafood Kritharoto from @fotiagreek was a winner for me! The orzo pasta was cooked perfectly, and flavoured really well with the rich lobster bisque. Would have been perfect if there was slightly more seafood, but otherwise the flavours were excellent. #burpple #greek #greekfood #orzo #seafood #lobs
Love the dan dan ramen from @singapore_enishi! The noodles itself are super springy and cooked perfectly and is generously topped with a lot of ingredients. If you have left over sauce/toppings, you can even get free rice and eat it together. The restaurant is pretty small and packed but the turn over is pretty quick. Also good is their soup ramen!
Always a treat at @terratokyoitalian! Each piece is comes with its own toppings and sauces / spreads - favourite would have to be the ebi and uni of course.
Had tasty truffle oil noodles from @iwantmynoodle. It’s tucked in a corner of Shaw so it’s quite a nice place to settle down for lunch away from the busier parts of town. Prices are affordable as well!
Old school curry rice from Havelock Hainanese Curry Rice at Sun Vista Food Centre really hits the spot! Really love the crispy pork cutlet bits and their meatball.
Loved this steam curried mousse with seafood from @kaabgluay in Phuket! It’s similar to the otah we have here in Singapore, but wetter/crumblier, with an almost scrambled-egg like texture. The mousse was very soft and not rubbery at all, and was chock-full of seafood, even parts of crab! At 150 baht, this was really a steal and one of the dishes to try if you ever visit this place!
Really liked the Umami Mentaiko Smoked Salmon toast from @evanskitch! The various ingredients such as mentaiko, smoked salmon, chicken floss came together really well and made for a wonderfully cohesive dish, where each bite was creamy, umami, with some tanginess from the picked Japanese cucumber. Thank you @burpple for the invite and @evanskitch for the hospitality.
A highlight from the @burpple eat-up at @evanskitch! The spaghetti with pork stew stock and pork belly made for a surprisingly tasty combination. The stock was super flavourful and and the pork belly was fork-tender. Yummy and made all the more worth it with #burpplebeyond ‘s one for one deals.
Picturesque carrot cake from @coexistcoffee.co that tasted as good as it looks! The carrot cake sticks were really crisp and tender/soft inside, and paired very well with the sambal mayo that wasn’t too overpowering. Yummy side dish to share! Honourable mentions include their brussel sprouts and grilled cheese with tomato soup.
One of the best Filipino food I’ve had in Singapore so far! The Sisig was such a delicious, piping hot mess of pork pieces and egg. Really liked the addition of the green chilli which gave it extra flavour and kick. Surprisingly, not jelat at all despite being a relatively oily dish — in fact the grease made it even better in my opinion.
Yummy donuts from @burntends.bakery.sg ! Love how generous they were with the Nutella filling.
