Had to queue a bit for this plate of chicken wings but it was worth it! Da Ji Hainanese chicken rice at Toa Payoh sells regular chicken rice but most people queue to buy their chicken wings. Crispy and constantly freshly fried - at $1.40 for a full wing it was really worth it! They also give you extra crispy bits if you ask for it.

The mortadella and burrata pizza from @milanopizzasg was the highlight of the meal! The exterior was very crisp while the inside remained really moist and soft. The burrata cheese was creamy and mellowed out the dish so it wasn’t too jelat.

The rainy weather is perfect for hot and hearty food, such as the frog leg porridge from Hong Chiang Eating House! Their frog legs are always very tender and fresh, as is their other seafood offerings.

Yummy steak from @gemmasteakhouse.sg during restaurant week. Really liked the mustard cream sauce that paired very well with the steak.

Omakase from @cho_restaurant was pretty good! Ingredients were fresh and good quality, and the quantity/pacing was just right as well. The chef is very warm and checks in regularly to make sure that you’re happy with your meal. Also love how attentive the staff are and really appreciated the good service.

Another great lunch option at CBD! These pork stomach potato noodles from Qin Ji Rougamou were sooo good - spicy, sour and very savoury; everything you would want from a bowl of Chinese noodles. Their liang pi was also pretty good. Everything is pretty affordable as well, being around $10 per portion (or less).

The curry chicken cutlet at Queensway Shopping Centre really hits the spot! Very lemak and pairs really well with the tender chicken cutlet.

Had to try the “chicken” and waffle from @lovehandlesg as it’s a as commonly seen meat alternative (compared to the usual impossible meat). Really had similarities to chicken in both texture and taste! Thought it was close to McDonald’s McChicken patty but definitely not as greasy / meaty, which is something I appreciate. They also have a butcher so you can check it out if you want to bring any of their meat alternative products back.

Impossible meat has been a hit and miss but the impossible meat nachos from @chimichangahv was pretty good! Super generous on all the ingredients and great way to start the meal.

First went to @ramen_keisuke Tonkotsu King Four Seasons years ago — and still like it till this day! The broth is really good and flavourful, and while the spicy version adds a good kick, the flavour of the original is richer and more pronounced on its own. The best part of this place is the free-flow seasoned bean sprouts and eggs - really value for money!

Always enjoy the gelato from @dopadopa.sg! Their blueberry pie and pineapple tart (seasonal) flavours went really well with their croissant. The blueberry tart was really creamy while the pineapple tart was quite tangy and legitimately tasted like pineapple tart. Nice spot for dessert with friends!

Interesting uni with seared scallop porridge from @jidai_restaurant — it was quite similar to a risotto texture with all of the umami flavours from the uni/broth. Super tasty and paired very well with the scallops. The owner and staff were really friendly and the rest of the food we had was really good as well! Great place for sharing plates and drinks with friends.
