Red velvet milkshake
Same as the cookie monster review 😄
But don't ya all agree it looks really nice ?
Appearance is a 100! But abit too creamy and sweet for my liking. Preparation was fast and staff are friendly
Portion wise is seriously big, the amount of scrambled eggs is enough for two (a couple) or perhaps 3 ladies. The spread for the bagel is nice but probably a plain bagel or one with lesser sesame on it will have a little lesser mess while eating.
Water from the scramble wet the base of the bagel as well, making it a little soggy. Probably having a different level plate for the bagel or something to hold it might makes it better, leaving the bagel dry and nice
Nice cheesy barley risotto, love the barley more than the fish !
Nice taste to the savoury soup made with white wine garlic chilli padi and corriander. Very nice warm feeling super awesome for a cold mth like December! Highly recommended it for it's generous amount of clams !
Taste like 'prawn paste fried chicken' at first... Haha but was hot and nice to go with beer !
Outburst of 'sea' from the first mouthful of cavier and ikanko, nice cold angel hair pasta with black and white sesame seeds and bonita flakes if I'm right. Nice combination and jus nice portion for a slow dinner pairing with wine.
Nice light appetizer with a strong cheese smell, probably not for people who dislike cheese.. but I love it !
Will recommend this place for their marvellous matcha. The kaya toast got a little je-lat after a while.
Main dishes and drinks were average.
When I came across this food stall in the coffee shop at Foch Road, I was pleasantly delighted with the sight of young hawkers who try to deliver Japanese food fare to hawker food place. For a Japanese food that is presented in quite a restaurant way, I feel that marking prices below ten dollars is somewhat affordable in relation to Japanese donburi.
The Salted Egg Tempura Don (S$9.80) was clearly a twist from the popular Tempura Don with the additional touch of melt-in-your-mouth salted egg yolk powder. Unfortunately, the powder itself lacks the omph of salted egg, thus the taste is considered as weak for me. On a side note, the dip sauce that was provided for me, which I initially thought was salted egg yolk sauce, turns out to be a curry sauce (think McDonald's).
Still, I'd say that if the young hawkerpreneurs were to take general feedback seriously and tweak their ingredients to customers' liking, there is still a future for our local hawker scene. We shall see.
The Fish & Chips Burger has a pollack fillet fried in their homemade batter, which was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. What stood out was Burgs’s ingenious use of nacho cheese and their homemade tartar sauce which enhanced the taste of the fish.
