Finally dragged my butt to Bao Makers, and I must say I rather enjoyed myself! There's definitely more that can be improved on: chilli crab sauce could be thicker and sweeter, bulgogi could be less powdery/pasty, and salted egg sauce could do without the mayo. But on the whole, great effort, ideas, and fantastic bao dough 👍🏻

Eggs were well done and it matches perfectly with avocado and greens. My kind of brunch!

By the same people behind Assembly Coffee comes Atlas Coffeehouse, an expansive, lofty Bukit Timah cafe decked out in marbled tiles and deep sea blue walls. Great for both quick coffee runs and long, lazy brunches, sail by for a Flat White ($4.50) and start the day with a relaxing read by the window bar. For brunch, get the ATLAS Super-Bowl ($17), a healthy yet tasty grain bowl filled with toasted quinoa, roasted squash and zucchini and tender peanut sesame pulled chicken. For more classic brunch flavours, go for the Creamy Mushrooms on Sourdough ($12) — a generous heap of mushrooms cooked with a splash of white wine and sundried tomatoes, which you must pair with the silky smooth Scrambled Eggs ($3 for add on). For dessert, we favour the Mixed Berries Compote Waffles ($12.50) over the pancakes — they are similar in taste but the former is lighter and more affordable. Pro-tip: It gets a little crowded at lunch time, so it's best to pop by around 11am.

Avg price: $25 per person

Grilled to succulent perfection, the King Prawn was simply outstanding. Thank you @coastessg for having us, and @sugar_singapore for organising the #SUGARRUSH event #wewantsugar

Interesting to eat waffles with soft-serve, though I still prefer them with ice-cream! The waffles are as good as the ones at Creamier, and the summer strawberries soft-serve was smooth and delicious without being too overwhelming.

Wrap & Roll is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant chain with outlets in Vietnam, Australia and Singapore. The menu here is simple, providing a host of Vietnamese favourites including their signature steamed rice crepe rolls, rice with grilled meat, and noodles. Since they're called Wrap & Roll, you should go for their rolls first, like their ‘Pho’ Beef Steamed Rice Crepe Rolls and Fresh Spring Rolls with Prawns and Pork. Choosing from the 'Roll it Yourself' section of the menu also means you get to get in on the action and start rolling! Their Bánh Xèo Crispy Crepe with Prawns, Pork, Bean Sprouts & Mushrooms is a unique find and is definitely worth a try too.

Monstrously massive slab of beer battered fish in the heart of Orchard Road for only $8.90? Shiver me timbers, all aboard!

Just realised that Equilibrium is by the same folks behind Supply & Demand, which is also a pretty decent spot for pizzas and hearty, modern Italian food.

The seafood in here was a touch overcooked and could have been fresher, but the spicy tomato-based sauce was rich, herby and paired well with bucatini (a pasta that's similar to but thicker than spaghetti). Yum!

S$6.90++ Concetto Pasta

Went home thinking that something was missing from the pasta and it wasn't as tasty as I remember it to be.

Where's my lobster foam and ikura? 😢 Did they change the menu or have I ordered the wrong pasta?

寻找与期待的味道不一样了…我感到了一种淡淡的忧伤。呜呜呜…

They've got the best pizza crust, crispy and fluffy/doughy at the same time. The thickness is just right I can finish 3/4 of one pizza without feeling too full 🙊🙊 tried the Funghi misti (fontina, taleggio & thyme) and Bacon, salame (fennel sausage, pancetta, tomato & mozzarella). Both recommended by the staff and they were really really good. I don't think I'll ever eat pizza in any random place anymore after this.
