- Variety of ingredients with kangkong, bean sprouts, springy fish cakes, lean pork, shrimps and even a red date which was very sweet and cooked till soft reminiscent of sweet potatoes!
- Pork slices were slightly sweet without the porky odour.
- Soup was clear and not oily, leaning slightly on the sweeter side with a heavier flavour of pork rib soup than shrimp, topped with generous amount of fried shallots which gave an aromatic savouriness π²
- Chose thin bee hoon that soaked up the essence well.
- Shrimps, though deshelled and deveined, were cut into halves which I found a little thin.
- Chose 2 sauces β πππ€π₯π₯ππ ππππ‘π‘π and π¨π₯πππππ‘ π©π€π’ππ©π€, half a whole fish was simmered on each side with cabbage.
- I preferred the former as it tasted more multi-dimensional with a slightly tangy spicy profile while not being too salty!
- My dad enjoyed the latter more for its lighter flavour though couldβve more tomatoes π
- Slightly sweet and I appreciated how itβs not sour, helped to wash down the grease and spice π₯₯
- Stir-fried till tender yet not mushy, my mum whoβs usually not a fan of eggplant took servings of this π
- Very garlicky with a tinge of sweetness and no beer bitterness, this caught us by surprise!
- Came with crunchy capsicums too, would prefer the dish to be less oily though.
- Came in a super huge cup!
- Sweetness was just right with acidity from the orange and lemon slices π
- Refreshingly hydrating, concentrate tasted like itβs made from mostly real watermelon π
Broth was not too heavy on the porky taste, very creamy with a milky consistency!
Sauce was boasting a fragrant garlicky smokiness, more robust in flavour.
Chicken thigh was meaty and juicy, perfectly fried with a crispy skin and a squeeze of lemon helped to cut the grease π
- Minced beef patty topped with their house-made mayo sauce, onions and pickles tasted exactly like a cheeseburger π§
- Slow-cooked pulled beef was tender with the most complex flavours, our fav!
- Filled with a mix of savoury cheeses and generous amount of meat π₯©
- Taco shell was deep-fried and a bit crisp, albeit oily.
- Chicken thigh was succulent and well-marinated, carrying slight smoky spicy notes that the refreshing tomatoes and onions balanced off π
