I asked for the bacon to be replaced with smoked salmon. This was one of the better eggs benedict I had. The english muffin was toasty and I liked the portobello bits beneath the eggs. The melted cheese on the eggs also gave this dish a unique spin.
This was the small bowl ($4) which was generous and more than enough for me. However, there was no option to add other ingredients like egg, tofu or ikan bilis.
This was just their regular sized bowl without the drink ($4.50). I really loved how bouncy and QQ the fishballs were, and how the fishcake had bits of chili and other stuff (spring onion?) in it. The mee pok noodles were of the thinner variant which was quite average tasting, but didn't put down the dish as a whole. In fact, I felt that the average noodles made me appreciate the bouncy fishballs even more 😋.
This must be my first time seeing brown rice and quinoa in a stone pot! The rice was fragrant and had coloured bell peppers and some vegetables mixed in. Though slightly wet (not sure from sauce or oil?), it still felt like a wholesome healthy dish with good portions of all macronutrients. Mix everything up quickly and leave the rice in for a few minutes to let the hot stone char the rice. Crispy burnt brown rice tasted pretty good too!
I must admit, when the training venue changes to other parts of town, I am less motivated to wake up 😂. This amazing toast set (I have featured a few times) was from Toast Hut, #01-52. And I just found out today that they do sell out of their toasts by afternoon!
I was really pleasantly surprised. It was salty (in a nice way), skin was crispy but on quite thick; probably would be nicer if the skin was thinner. The char siew and roast duck was quite average though.
Love qiji popiahs so much due to the generous fillings, and somehow the skin remains chewy and soft without getting soggy and breaking apart too easily. Their popiahs are more on the sweet side as they are generous with the sweet sauce. Highly recommended!
I loved the rich yolky and almost milky taste of this dish. However the truffle taste in the beef had been overpowered by the sauce and egg. In fact I did not even realised it was truffle beef hor fun until the bf told me 🙊. There was no wok hei taste either. This is still a dish better obtained from hawker centres, sans the truffle.
These baos were supposed to be like mini sliders, but instead of burger buns, chinese fluffy steamed buns were used. .
I liked the kung pao chicken bao more. The patty was crispy and the chili padi in the sauce gave the bao a good kick. However, it tasted nothing like a kung pao sauce to me. It was more like a bbq type of sauce with chili padi. The smoked duck bao was more of a let down because there were only 2 very small slices of smoked duck in it, and the coleslaw (which tasted like it was soaked in way too much wasabi mayo), didn't pair well with the smoked duck. For $9.80 for 2 baos, I think it was still of good value to try out these baos.
This was on the spicy side for me, but the pork was tender with super generous amounts of kimchi in the pot. Always loving korean food anytime anyday!
I love the combination marmite and cheese, and with eggs done in my favourite way, I thought this would be a winning dish. But it wasn't 😢. The poached eggs were overcooked and yolks have solidified. The sourdough bread had crusts that were so hard till I gave up chewing it on the second slice. My jaws were so tired and I took double my usual time to eat. What was the hype about this cafe again? And the queue was so long!
When this dish was served, I immediately marveled at how realistic the 'pork belly' and the intestines looked. The 'pork belly' even had a gelatinous-looking layer to resemble the fat! The 'intestines' were probably made from taukee, and there was tau kwa and tau pok. I especially loved the kway actually, and the flavourful broth it was soaked in. The bf found the kway too mushy but I kind of liked it that way. This cafe is quite inaccessible, menu is rather small as well. I wouldn't recommend travelling here specially for this, but if you live in this area, it's worth the try.

P.S. Their thunder tea rice was good!
