Nunsongyee's recommended Cheesecake Bingsu ($15.90) is the bomb ๐ with a generous amount of vanilla ice cream and graham crackers, there would never be a moment where you'll eat only the snow ice! the best part is, this place is open 24/7! why must bingsu be so expensive though ๐ญ
back here again at Curious Palette! today for brunch i had the Pan Seared Salmon ($18.90). a little pricey but it was worth it. i really liked the dressing of the salmon, and when topped off with a squeeze of lemon juice, it tasted perfect. salmon was very well cooked, fish was moist and had a crisp skin. the guacamole paired the salmon superbly, i wish more places would put these two together! i was very happy with my lunch. Curious Palette never fails to satisfy me! ๐
in this picture also included Smoked Duck Salad ($15.50).
super cute popsicles from the newly opened I SEE i SEE! i tried the Strawberry Hokkaido Milk ($6.90), which was more icy than milky. it tasted of real strawberries and it made me feel less guilty because it tasted healthy hehe ๐ but would i come back here for popsicles this pricy? i think i'd rather stick to making my own instead.
march holidays are finally here, which means more cafe hopping!! i can't miss out on my morning dose of coffee, so i decided to get the Cafรฉ Latte ($5.50). the cute presentation of this cuppa immediately made me smile! it was too cute i didn't even want to drink it ๐ looks aside, this latte wasn't acidic and had a creamy flavour to it. i prefer my coffee to be less acidic, so this cup satisfied me. both taste and presentation definitely made my morning a whole lot better ๐
my parents treated me an advanced birthday lunch today at Prego! Prego has always been one of my favourite pasta places, but i wasn't ready for a buffet because i could have skipped breakfast before coming here so that i could start with an empty stomach ๐ฉ
anyway, the buffet ($78++ per person) had such a wide spread of food, and by wide i mean REALLY WIDE - antipasti, seafood, cold cuts, desserts, and a menu of 40 different dishes consisting pastas and meat. with such a wide selection, this buffet is definitely worth it!also, every single thing i ate in the buffet didn't fail to satisfy me. the Pork Ribs especially were really fresh, the meat peeled off from the ribs without any difficulty at all. loved the buffet so much, but its such a pity that it's so pricy โน
eating this Matcha Classic ($6) is definitely one of the best ways to beat the heat. consisting of honeyed cornflakes, rice balls, and azuki beans, when eaten together with the soft serve, it makes you want to eat some more because it's so good ๐ the combination of the soft serve and toppings went well; the honeyed cornflakes toned down the slight bitterness of matcha. i like the simple presentation as well!
my craving for ice cream and waffles has been going crazy this whole week, so i decided to drop by here to try the Red Velvet Waffle Stack ($14.50). it definitely satisfied my craving oh my.
the waffles were crisp on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. waffles like these are always my favourite. they were also a little sweet, so if you like sweet waffles this one's for you! i liked the pieces of shortcake bits in the ice cream a lot ๐ also, they gave a generous amount of ice cream. presentation of this is surely an A+, but price wise maybe it would be better if it was a little cheaper?
happy valentines! ๐ hope you spent your day with your loved ones! for dinner today, we decided to drop by here. i had the Pulled Pork Burger ($12.90). the bun was a little plain, but the pulled pork was drenched with sauce which made it less dry, and more yummy. ๐ it's hard to find cafes with a wide selection of food, but Refuel has done it, not forgetting the fact that it's rather price friendly! lots of glass to allow light to enter, but when it's dark outside, the lighting inside should be improved!
in this picture also includes the Salted Caramel Waffle ($9.90) and the Bacon Aglio ($11.90).
happy cny! ๐ had a quick rest stop here before more visiting! i had the Afternoon Tea Set ($9.90++), which has a choice of coffee/tea and a cake. i chose the Cookies & Cream Cheesecake to go along with a pot of English Breakfast Tea. the cake was tasty, but it was dense and filled me up really quickly. one of the few afternoon tea sets which are still considered affordable! okay, back to collecting more angbaos!
happy Chinese New Year Eve! ๐ with only two choices on the food menu today because they're only open for half-day since it's CNY eve, we decided to try both, which were the Oven Baked Molten Eggs ($12.90) and the Pepperoni & Cheese Sandwich ($11.50), and also got the Earl Grey Croissant with Toasted Hazelnuts ($4.20) from the pastry section. i accompanied them with a cup of Caffe Mocha ($4.80). the Oven Baked Molten Eggs had poached eggs which were perfectly cooked i fell in love with it immediately ๐ i loved every bite of the Pepperoni & Cheese Sandwich, the combination of Rocket Salad, Tomatoes and Pepperoni made every bite oh so flavourful! if you love sugary food, you would love the Earl Grey Croissant with Toasted Hazelnuts. it was such a unique flavour for a croissant, though i would prefer it to be more flaky. i must say the staff were really friendly and sweet! the open concept this cafe has makes this place very instagrammable. i would definitely want to come back again to try the other food on the full menu!
hello from korea! finally tried authentic korean bingsu ๐ this was the milk flavour (medium size) for KRW7500. the shaven ice was less snowy than singapore's, which was a disappointment. however, it tasted milky throughout, and the peanut powder topped it off quite well. for such a cheap price that i would never be able to find in singapore, it definitely satisfied my craving for korean binsu!
i don't know if this revamp was done a long time ago, but the coffee club's menu has changed to become more affordable! it's sad to see coffee club being so empty after they lowered the price of their dishes, there should be more patrons dining here!
for breakfast today i had the Full Breakfast ($9.90). finally somewhere which has really crispy bacon that i adore. i loved the scrambled eggs, which were fluffy and weren't too runny. probably one of the cheapest "cafe kind" breakfasts i've had, and i definitely recommend coming here if you don't want to burn a hole in your pocket, and still get reasonable food!
