Rainy day calls for fish soup!
The key to good fish soup is the broth, Iâd say. Clear yet flavourful and having absorbed all the essence there is, I can see why they were spotting a queue when I popped by.
There are a myriad of options available here - fish slices or fried fish, rice or bee hoon, various combination such as fish maw soup, red grouper fish head soup etc, Iâm sure youâll find something you enjoy here!
If youâre feeling peckish, order their fried beancurd to go with your fish soup, itâs both crispy and chewy at the same time!
Came here at a friendâs recommendation. You can tell this place is pretty authentic since itâs run by Chinese Nationals. Hygiene levels are questionable but food is pretty good. As with all Chinese skewers, the seasoning is pretty strong and if youâre here for dinner, youâd feel thirsty in the middle of the night. But nonetheless, it felt great eating this and pairing it with beer đ»
My recommendations are the chicken, mushrooms, French beans, pork belly!
Both elements blended harmoniously, where you can taste the sweet lychee on the first mouth, with the light fragrance of camomile lingering behind after youâve ingested the drink. Slightly pricy for this but worth a try nevertheless!
This dish reminds me of PS Cafeâs truffle fries, where they are similar in terms of both the taste and look. Can definitely order this for sharing with a group!
Food here was pretty decent but really expensive. You could get the same standard of food at other restaurants at a better price point though I guess youâre paying for the vibes here. Truffle scent for this dish is really prominent though you need to order some sides to cut through the flavours after a while as it can get jelak.
A simple dessert with mango ice, some brown sugar jelly and vanilla ice cream, this was a bit lackluster and nothing to shout about. Go for their chendol instead!
Was in the vicinity so I thought to give it a try instead of the usual Ah Chew Dessert which was round the corner as well. The building it was in looks very ulu and I didnât even know the building was still operating since it was pretty late at night. Until I saw people walking out of the building only then I made my way in. The shop is pretty big with 3 units altogether, compromising of mostly teenagers, likely from the art school nearby. Itâs a very homely place but donât expect to stay long as it was so noisy, could barely hear myself speaking. Desserts wise, the Chendol was pretty good, love the Pandan jelly in the creamy coconut base, along with red beans on the side. The Mango Ice wise, a bit lackluster and nothing to shout about.
Bumped into some MediaCorp artistes here, so I guess this place is quite well known indeed.
The Taro Tiramisu had a stronger tiramisu flavour as the taro element got overpowered by the tiramisu. Nevertheless, the purple hue was still very nice to look at!
Am pretty sure this place will be a hit with kids as Iâve seen multiple kids running around the pit while I was there. Good way to tire them out so they go home and toh immediately đ parents please take note đ€
The Coconut Bingsu had to be the star of the day with its cute presentation đ€© the shaved ice were fine with what seemed like raspberry pops at the base of the shaved ice before itâs topped with a regular vanilla ice cream.
Popped by here and was in for a surprise! Thereâs a ball pit in the middle of the shop with seats and table within, enabling the kid in you to immerse in the environment that would otherwise prove inappropriate had you been in the indoor children playground đ
I had their Honey Soufflé which was utterly airy and fluffy, almost cloud like. My only qualm was the accompanying honey which was rather uncommon and I much prefer maple syrup with my soufflé.
The mussels were fantastic too, and mind you, we ordered the half portion, so imagine our surprise when these many mussels appeared in front of us, no complains though! It was fresh, garlicky and very well flavoured đŻ
Pop by here for late brunch as I was nearby and was lucky to get a seat without reservations!
Wasnât particularly hungry but had my eyes on their Big Breakfast so decided to share it with my friend and damn was this dish goood đ€đŒ
The scrambled eggs werenât particularly fluffy but was decently creamy without being runny, tater tots were crisp despite being left on the plate for a rather long time and the sautĂ©ed mushrooms were utterly juicy and flavourful. Kurobuta Pork Sausage and applewood smoked bacon were great too but special shout-out to the sourdough, no idea what they did to it but it was lightly charred, spots a nice crisp and simple amazing âš
