Newly opened pizza takeaway at the basement of Funan! $10 9-inch pizza, enough for two meals (..for a lady). They were not kidding when they said itād take 90 mins to cook, it was ready in mere 10 mins! The thickness of the crust was just right with slight crunch.
Where can you find sourdough pizza at such a price? I had the tandoori chicken, nicely spiced, with kick from jalapeno, stringy piping hot cheese. Just go give it a tryyy
The Populus Scramble consisted of basic ingredients like turkey bacon, croissant, scrambled eggs with herbs (essentially spring onions and big red chilli).
Not a very good photographer (esp for food), but plating was well done, enough for me to take like a pro for once.
The textbook scrambled eggs was a win for me, the herbs gave it a slight Asian twist. But apart from that, nothing to shout about, no complexity nor depth in flavours. Croissant was very mediocre, and after 3 mouths it was all really one-dimensional. I couldnāt finish it. It just did not make the cut for such price point ($22 bef GST & svc charge).
Hesitant to come back, but if I do then Iād probably try something else. Also, there was not much viable options for my poor vegetarian friend. Her favourite mushrooms were already pre-mixed with garlic so no customisations.

The dish was simple, it contained cheese, pork cutlet, and some mushroom. I must say the pork cutlet was SOOO juicy and well-seasoned (a tad salty especially with the cheese). But nothing too fantastic and was jelak after 3 mouths. I can order something similar elsewhere at a much more affordable price. Not worth even with Burpple Beyond.
You will be better off visiting them for their coffee and brunch menu instead.
First of all, im glad the pasta was al dante and they were rather generous with the mushroom. The truffle taste was not very overpowering, this dish just tasted like mushroom and they were very heavy on the salt. Overall, I felt the all-day mains are not worth its price point. I would not return for dinner even with Burpple Beyond deals.
We have tried a ton of different acai places but The Summer Acai does it the best! It is our go to place for a healthier alternative to ice cream, still satisfying our sweet cravings. We can atest for their consistent quality across multiple outlets (kovan, joo chiat, tampines, beauty world) after visting 5-6 ocassions. (Its not often that we re-visit places)
Their acai base has a tinge of sweetness yet freshens the palette, and does not melt easily. The other ingredients complements harmoniously and we must say the Almond Butter is a definite MUST get for the choice of sauce.
āBust My Nutsā is our go-to combi, so worth it at $9.50 for Medium size, delicious and of consistently good quality.
Please do not give this underrated place a miss! š
ATTACCKED by the whiff of waffle scent!
The $9 double-scooped gelato doesnāt melt easy! This means its fresh~
Its not too sweet even for biccoff flavour, but dark chocolate was definitely down our alley! Will definitely be back if in the area~
Also this place opens till 2am , what a gem āØ
I got the Nutella based Acai, and this was just not it. Perhaps its personal preference but Iāve never encountered such acai with icy consistency.. and Iāve had multiple acais (The Summer Acai, Coocaca, Acai Affair, etc.) but this just doesnāt hit the spot.
The palm-sized acai appeared tiny but felt heavy on the hands, for $7.50, mostly filled with acai base.
A plus though, just 50 cents to swap the milk in my coffee to oat milk. Coffee itself tasted more bitter perhaps due to the healthier alternative.
If you would like to give it a try, please I will not recommend you getting the chocolate based one..
Warning.. this was crafted after a good 1.5 hours wait ..
It was the last day of the Chope 1-for-1 voucher and I had no choice but to head down.
The voucher was worth $19, but in fact none of the ala carte ramen costed this high ($13-17 range).
Iād say the ramen in general just lacks depth in flavour and is very oily as what most reviews mentioned as well. (The film of oil solidified after I finished my review) Spicy tonkotsu just tasted spicy, the tsukumen singapore special only exutes bonito flavours.
āHonourableā mention to the chashu for being tender. But.. keep your eyes peeled, its all made of fats.. unacceptable
Iād definitely want to check on the deals in detail before purchasing in the future. There are much better ramen choices out there so highly unlikely to return.
I love the chill vibes on a Monday morning. Their coffee was well-balanced, neither too bitter nor acidic. The coffee (Large) + pastry set is extremely worth it, at approximately $7 depending on your choice of drink.
The staff was so polite and nice as well! She recommended the kouign amaan which was perfect for my palette (i drink 25% bubble tea for a reference), though would prefer it to be crispier but allās good.
It is a shame that the other coffee places at the lower floors garnered a lot more attention. People shouldnāt give this a miss especially with such amazing quality and affordability!
Will definitely be back for the Pork Leg Rice, it encapsulates comfort food. The fats just melts in your mouth.
Ratio for Phad Thai was a little questionable, it was like 30% bean sprout, 30% lean meat and 40% noodle. But still tastes like a good Phad Thai.
Lastly, the drink. If you canāt handle a 100% bubble tea, please DO NOT order this. I died on my first mouth and couldnāt handle the sweetness. Weird enough, we went at around 2pm, and the typical milk tea and green milk tea were already not available..
Overall, not too dmging to the wallet and actually delicious. There are quite a plenty of seating areas so this didnāt leave us waiting at all. Do definitely give the Pork Leg Rice a go.
Marioās Celebrity Pork Leg Rice - $10.00
Pork Phad Thai - $8.90
Thai Longan Drink - $3.90

Its only $3.80 for a single scoop for regular flavours! Please donāt sleep on them, its really good you wonāt regret the Salted Butterscotch! For anyone who likes some salt in their sweets. Would recommend the Hojicha for a refreshing and healthier option for ice cream.
Had the 5 Pcs Kushiyaki Chefās Recommendation ($18) (comprises of mushroom, bacon-wrapped aspharagus, chicken balls, chicken meat, chicken wing skewers) , it is so worth it and we were mindblown by the depth of flavour. Everything was soo good, except the wrapped aspharagus which was still acceptable.
The mentai rosti ($9), its so unique! The potatoes are nicely shredded like noodles, what impresses me is the texture which has a nice crunch and bite, cooked just perfectly. And you simply canāt go wrong w mentaiko.
The sweet premium sake ($33/ 180 ml) is well-bodied, smooth and has a palatable sweetness with a non-aggressive aftertaste. Rounded with a slighty fruity note. Please do give this a try.
