We had the classic buttermilk biscuits (4 for $10++) served with honey butter and house-made jam. When we had to takeaway some as we couldn't finish all the food, they included the butter and jam in little plastic containers, so thoughtful! ☺️
I like the Smoked Brisket Biscuits (2 for $20++) too. The beef in house-made bbq sauce is a bit on the sweeter side, and it's perfectly fine with me 😁
I will want to try the other 3 flavours next time! Crispy Chicken and Col. Newsome's Preacher's Ham, as well as Charcuterie & Cheese, which is exclusive for dinner 😊

This is meant to be shared by 2 people!
The Vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle was so crispy! I could taste the savouriness of the waffle, but the cheese was not really noticeable. I like that you can help yourself to the bottle of bourbon maple syrup which has a strong bourbon taste! In fact I love it so much I forgot to try the honey hot sauce πŸ˜‚
The fried chicken is crispy on the outside, flavourful and tender on the inside πŸ˜‹ The addition of chilled sliced watermelon may seem odd to some, but it makes a refreshing combination. Not to mention, it's like eating a solid mojito 😁
I only wish they can switch the waffle to chicken ratio because I would prefer 4 pieces of waffle to 2 pieces of fried chicken. Or at least 1 to 1! 😝

And also reasonably priced at $14.90++ 😁
The Special Tempura Don consists of 2 pieces of prawns and 1 piece of chicken, sweet potato, baby corn, mushroom, eggplant and poached egg πŸ’› Crispy, even at the end of the meal! Although there's no sauce that you can help yourself to, but there's enough flavour already, even for me 😁

The Kushiyaki Don has 4 assorted skewers. Today we had the pork, chicken, chicken with leek and bacon wrapped tomato, not forgetting a lovely poached egg as well. I really love the charred surface 😊

There's also vegetarians versions at $11.90++. Too bad there are only counter seats here and not suitable for larger groups. Come early as the space is limited!

The meat is not as tender as I remember! Luckily the prawn paste chicken and cereal prawns are good. Small portions at $8, $8 and $15 respectively.
If you do takeaway, do be careful. Once they forgot our rice and this time they got the time wrong so we had to wait though we already placed an order in advance πŸ˜…

This feeds 4 of us nicely and surprisingly, we enjoyed the side dishes better! Such a pity that the lobster was overcooked.

The crispy lotus with salted egg ($11.90++) was not greasy or too heavy, hence dangerously addictive! The deep fried beancurd ($9.90++) was so soft that you should eat it with a spoon, and I love the generous serving of crispy salted turnip 😍 The silky ι’ιΎ™θœ (garlic chives, $10.90++) is very special and goes well with porridge 🀀

In short, I will return for these side dishes 🀣

I think what made it special was the dried bonito, so umami! 😍 the appetisers were nice, and of course the expensive set's was better 😏

They say this is the most filling of the 3 omakase sets and I can attest to that! πŸ˜† The other 2 sets comes with 7 and 9 piece sashimi and costs $98++ and $138++. It's actually pretty easy to finish this bowl as the rice is very marinated and mixed with pickles, seaweed and such. There's salmon, maguro, shiro maguro, ikura, ika and sea bream (I think). But if you are a small eater, do remember to ask for less rice πŸ˜†

But the secret is to get "dirty matcha", which is a matcha latte with an espresso shot πŸ˜† Matcha is strong enough and not overpowering. I like the combination and this gives me an authentic Japanese feel! Coupled with the cool and relaxed vibes, I really didn't wish to return to work πŸ˜”

And don't you worry, even though it's a full house for lunch, the sashimi was served quite promptly, though the same can't be said for the cooked food. I think they should hire an additional chef! We could have finished the additional order of salmon before the garlic fried rice was served πŸ˜‚ Remember, come on Mondays and Thursdays where 5pc of salmon sashimi goes for only $3++! 😁

1 meat and 2 veg for $2.70 makes a cheap and satisfying meal πŸ˜‹ I told my companions this was my best lunch of the week so far because I am finally getting some vegetables 🀣 I like the cabbage and lovely steamed egg, but the pork chop and curry was a little lacklustre compared to the other Hainanese curry places around. Pork wasn't crispy enough and curry was bland. Good that they obliged my request for more curry 😁 I actually came for the famous carrot cake which wasn't around anymore 😭

This may not look like it, but it's a pretty generous serving! Lucky I didn't choose the charcoal cone πŸ˜… It's $3.80 for single scoop, $7 for double scoop, and $1 extra for premium flavours. There are many tempting flavours to choose from!! I finally settled on salted macadamia and gula melaka πŸ˜‹
