One half sells Peranakan food, while the other half sells burgers! Corner Burger's signature is the wagyu burger, so of course we need to try this π the only option is medium, but my worries are for naught, because the patty is delightfully pink in the middle ππΌ though I wouldn't mind if it comes more seasoned πThis is served with fresh thick cut fries.
One half sells Peranakan food, while the other half sells burgers! Kampung Bowl has an option of 3 dishes which is either $7/8. I had the Babi Ponteng θ±ι ±ζ ’ηηͺδΊθ±, slow cooked fermented soy bean pork collar with potato. There's also a Ayam Merah, spicy tomato sauce with chicken confit which was very tempting, and Beef Agogo. It does have a home cooked flavour π
Order both! π Love the tangy broth and flavourful kway teow π€€ Comes at $6 each and you can upsize the portion for an additional $2! I do like the normal portion, because... room for desserts!! Another must order is the coconut coffee. Default comes with one shot and the coconut taste is stronger, order an additional shot if you want more coffee taste! So must better than a restaurant at Suntec that I'm not naming π
Lunch is a good deal at $20 with either coffee or tea π The beef comes medium rare by default, in fact they can't do it more cooked! But don't worry, it's pink, not bloody in the middle π The ginger foam is so interesting and goes better than I thought. I like the quiet ambience during the weekday lunch. Almost makes me forget I have to go back to work! π
The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and oh-so tender and easily eaten with a fork and spoon π Nasi goreng was flavourful and the oxtail soup might be too ιε£ε³ for some people, but it should be just nice to accompany the white rice π
Only realised there's blue cheese while googling as we sat and wait for our order, but luckily it's not that overwhelming π Was recommended to have the patty medium, but found it dry and pretty bland. Medium rare should work better. Seems like fries either came heavily seasoned or unsalted. I gladly exchanged the latter for someone else's π€£ We all felt very thirsty after the meal, luckily they provided iced water π¦
π² It's a mistake if you expect the typical Japanese curry, because this is meant to be drank like soup! In fact, I would say to imagine a soup with lots of spices π€£ Firstly, choose the main ingredients. I like my Oink Oink with tender pork belly and I'll probably try the Cheesy Bear with fried chicken and cheese next. Secondly, choose your spiciness level, I wanted 14, but was told no even numbers?! So it's 13 for me and I'll recommend that you be brave and just go for the crazy bear levels! Lastly, decide on your soup base with options like Japanese, shrimp, coconut or tomato. I love the tangy but not spicy broth! I'll like this with even more broth! There's already veggies like baby corn, green pepper, potato, eggplant, carrot and broccoli etc, but if you chose the Vegetarian Bear toppings you get even more vegetables like cabbage, lotus root and pumpkin π
I love this combination π I think we got a slightly bigger serving as it was the last available scoop! Interestingly, it looked and tasted even darker then the signature 80% dark chocolate π² after eating this flavour, the signature one tasted more sweet! The Dominican Republic 70% single origin dark chocolate is good too π Not a lot of us was able to appreciate the red velvet flavour, which reminded us a little like cough syrup/berries π
Nicely medium rare pan-seared Japanese wagyu striploin & salmon roe over rice, served with salad, soup of the day (kimchi soup for us) and fruit juice. If you feel like splurging, the A4 Kagoshima rib cap & ikura don is the way to go π You are meant to cook the meat yourself yakiniku style, but if you don't wanna smell for the rest of the day, the staff can cook it for you before serving π
