It is only sweetened by the mitarashi sauce, and it has gotta be the least sweet (and most value for money) kakigori Iโve tried at Matchaya ๐
The crushed spiced cookies sprinkled over reminds me that Christmas is not too far away ๐
P.S. You really need to share this with someone! (Coming from someone who usually has no problem finishing one kakigori)
Well, better late than never, Iโll very glad youโre here ๐ค
Love this cheese soft serve that tastes cheesy enough without being overwhelming. And the best thing about the sundae is that you get the milk cheesecake and cheese cookie as a topping ๐๐๐ $8.50 well spent! ๐
Especially when they are open daily from 8:30am - 3pm ๐
Good that the fried chicken cutlet is crispy and I simply love the curry noodles ๐คค Only $4!
The unatendon is the best of 2 worlds! The tempura came with one ebi, a meatball that is supposedly stuffed with cheese? ๐ค, pumpkin, seaweed, mushroom, etc. Choice of white or truffle rice and original, spicy or yuzu pepper sauce. Truffle taste is nice but too light for me, and they totally forgot about my yuzu pepper sauce! ๐
They served it on the side afterwards, itโs quite diluted and more yuzu then yuzu pepper, but still worth a try!
Unagi has more bones then I like and itโs very heavy on taste, but overall still a good meal ๐
The aburi-ed dango with kuromitsu sauce was perfect, I only wish it was drizzled with mitarashi sauce (sweet soy sauce) too!
The flavour of the mitarashi soft serve has been calibrated so that it can be accepted by most, but I do wish it was more on the savoury side ๐ Still, it warrants more than one try! $8 for the parfait (more soft serve, the better to share with!) that comes with dango.

Didnโt suit my tastebuds: red bean paste pancake, century egg with tofu
Earl Grey Fortune Ice Cream: black tea, bergamot and chocolate
1837 Black Tea Sorbet: black tea with ripe berries, anise and caramel
At first, the berries in the sorbet reminded me of cough syrup ๐ต but luckily grew on me after a while. Goes very well with the earl grey chocolate! โบ๏ธ
For tea, we tried Earl Grey dโAmour which was very good! Besides the standard bergamot in black tea, the addition of wild flowers and white tea blossoms gave a fragrant floral note ๐
Tea flower, like lavender kiss tea, comes in a pretty clear pot. Subtle lavender white tea with a bit of tartness from hibiscus ๐บ
Not too bad ๐ supposedly came with brioche, but itโs very ordinary toast. This plate deserves a better bread ๐
We also had the tuna tataki salad as I wanted to try the Smoky Earl Grey infused tuna tataki, really wish the tea taste can be even stronger!
Houjicha and matcha soft serve on chiffon cake with azuki beans ๐๐ I looove the soft serve! To sum it up in one word, itโs INTENSE ๐
Heard the houjicha is only available on weekends, so I started to regret ordering the mix, but the strong matcha was really good too!
Need to have this again in a cone!

I think even if you are not fans of chestnuts, you can still enjoy this kakigori or the soft serve! I do need to share this someone who can help me eat the chestnut bits ๐
Just after I took this first shot, the very soft and fluffy chestnut cream slided down!
P.S. I love their new loyalty system, no card or app needed! ๐๐ผ
