Too bad I only have room for one, so it’s just Scotty 😂
Cake of scotch whisky 🥃, orange marmalade 🍊 and lemon 🍋 reminds me a little of fruitcake but is much lighter and more refreshing 😋
O-KU’s bara chirashi is such a delight to look at! Remember that good things are worth waiting for, it took quite a while for our orders to be served though there were not a lot of other customers 😆
Love the attention to detail here, no chrysanthemum petal, sesame seed or ikura looks to be out of place 😊 Sashimi is good, wasabi is fresh, but their rice was too hard for me 😅
Still, it’s not bad for $35++ and it came with an appetiser and dessert (yuzu ice cream!) for lunch 😋
The very Christmasy kakigori comes with a chocolate base, matcha and some Hokkaido milk espuma, and a shot of Nama Choco Mint meant for drizzling all over 🤤 Love the generous cocoa nibs for the added crunch in every bite 😋
It marks a good last flavour for 2017 and I can’t wait to see what new flavours 2018 will bring 🤗
Luckily that is not the case at Lowercase 😁
I like the Gravity Waffle with salted caramel ice cream! Though the popcorn can do with less caramel 🤣
The BBQ Smoked Duck thin crust pizza and salted egg yolk fried are also recommended 😋
Especially the mini dons which came with salad, miso soup, chawanmushi, tempura and dessert!
The plum salted tomatoes took some getting used to 😅 but I love the scrambled egg, potato and bacon!
If the above sounds too much, the egg and cheese melt may be a better choice! Served with cheese and *caramelised* onions and house-made brioche buns! We skipped the apple slaw which seemed to be drenched in salt water 😅
The creme brulee French Toast made a good end to our meal! Just nice for sharing 😊
3 mini bowls at $22.80++ to $34.80++ 😋
I highly recommend the mini otoro meshi! The seared wagyu beef and minced maguro is good too 🤤
Quite sad to miss their Darker Than Dark limited flavour earlier, hope they bring it back soon, and pair it with mint too! 😋
Rosu, prime part of chuck roll, very tender with distinct marbling.
2. Misuji, rare cut of oyster blade. Every cow yields only 3kg of this cut! (But it’s too lean for me 😂)
3. Karubi, still my fave! Top quality beef with the best marbling.
4. Tontoro, pork cheek, not as good as their beef!
5. Some aged beef tongue, surprisingly thick! I would stick to regular beef tongue 😛
6. The most value for money item is the platter with cut-off ends of Wagyu and Tokachi beef, which is a must order!!!
Sorry Yole, I find you too milky and not enough of a yogurt taste... The recommended crunch wasn’t my cup of tea as well, some chocolate/hazelnut filled biscuit. I think I’ll stick to the classics next time...
But I do like this colour better! 😅
Yummy~ $34.90++ for a set that comes with salad (more like otoshi??), green tea and miso soup. Also, add on 5pc salmon sashimi for $6.90++ 😋
P.S. they have a lot of other lunch options starting from $9.90++ for chicken teriyaki set 😁
Mmmm, and the verdict is that I would love to return again for that yummy okonomiyaki 😊 Specially great for lazy people like me because they’ll cook this and serve it to you on a hot plate. They also cater to those who prefer to DIY for a more authentic experience. Prices start at $10.80++, with option to add noodles to turn it into a modanyaki~
We also tried the omelet yakisoba (sauce flavour). A large serving goes for $16.30++ and can feed 2 people! Egg was still soft and runny when served, too bad the pork and squid inside were overcooked and too tough 😅
P.S. Hope they maintain the standard of the okonomiyaki and don’t let it slip if the chef returns to Japan 🙏🏼
