Good coffee! One of the more popular cafes in the region, @asylumcoffeesg don't mess around with their coffee. I had their Iced Latte ($7.50) and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality cuppa I was having. Although it was a smaller cup as compared to other cafes, the coffee was strong, yet very smooth and fragrant. Chocolate nutty notes were evident, and they put the right amount of milk for the coffee. Love how it was rich and creamy, all the way till the end. Very enjoyable! Their cafe isn't big, but some outside seats were available. I saw many people getting their filter coffee and coffee beans itself, so this further emphasises how much people love the coffee here!

Hidden gem of a Japanese pastry shop Set for 1 ($12) included a slice of cake as well as a drink. Chose the Mille Feuille - how do you even pronounce this? - as well as an iced fruits-loaded earl grey tea. Loved the cream and raspberry jam in the Mille Feuille, but didn't care much for the puff pastry. The iced tea though, so refreshing! I still think about it until now.

Uji Matcha Cake [$40] Birthday cake choice this year is Chef Yamashita’s Uji Matcha Cake! Only thought that the toppings didn’t really match the cake, but otherwise it was a very lovely one to have - light cream all around and especially enjoyed the middle matcha cream that was distinctly bittersweet. Sponge was soft too. We had the smallest size but they have many sizes to pick from to suit your occasions

Coffee Cookies, Almond Cookies I love both the cookies. Buttery and fragrant and also affordable at $6.80 per pack. Cny period and others are selling cookies at cut throat prices. I don't really fancy the fanciful tins of some shops. I rather the shop spend less and pass the savings on to the consumer. Just my personal opinion. I am going to eat the cookies and not the tin anyway. On the left of the picture is the Earl Grey financier. Somehow I don't really detect the fragrance of any Earl Grey. I will give the financier a miss.

White Cold Brew ($8.50) This is definitely making it into my top list of cold brews. The coffee was rich and creamy with an intense and bold coffee flavour. While slightly sweetened, it balanced out the bitter notes nicely.

Lamb & Red Wine Pie ($13) Hearty, aromatic and rich in flavours. Encased in a flaky pastry, the lamb was braised to fork tender with a distinctive taste of the red wine and overall not too gamey. The pastry was flaky and with a glaze made from the lamb jus, it added an element of sweetness to the entire pie. Worth the price? Definitely!

Basque burnt 9nett Must try Molten even when cold, the creaminess and flavour were both good. Rightly, the cheese wasn't too sweet, and they balance it out with a glaze on top. Textbook apart from the glaze, which puts them over the top. The best I've had in recent memory Location ulu tho, abit painful to walk under the sun at noon

Vegan banana bread 5nett I didn't like this at all. It tastes more like wheat than banana, and it's very dry.

Sea salt brownie 5nett Theirs is not exactly a fudgey kind actually, when warmed up the exterior has a slight crust but the interior, while thick like a fudge, is bubbly in a way reminiscent of soufflé. Not your normal brownie but it's still very enjoyable, due to the richness. Small portion too which is great, worth trying if you're nearby

Orh nee tart 1.5nett per pc, min 2 pcs of any tarts They are good. Yam paste was decent enough, the Gingko was perfectly chewy and the pastry was buttery and crumbly, but not overly so. Good execution, but they're not worth specially travelling for because let's be honest how mind-blowing can these things get. Nor is it worth the hassle scrambling for on weekends If you're nearby on a weekday, it's worth dropping by

Orh Nee, Egg and Cheese Tart Throwback post - Finally get to taste June Bakery's golden trio again Loved the orh nee tart after trying it previously. However, they have gotten so popular that GB slots are just getting snapped up in seconds Buttery crumbly crust is on the softer side for all tarts and sweetness / "cheezy-ness" is just nice. Orh Nee tart take the top spot for me, with egg and cheese tart coming in second and third respectively. 💜 Support June Bakery at 7500A Beach Road, The Plaza, #B1-321, Singapore 199591

Mango sandwich 5.5nett So they use their signature bread for the sandwich. It's really quite unique, it's got some heft and works well in a thicker sandwich, and it has some bite as well. Almost has a cake like bounce, but seeing how it comes in their sandwich I'm not motivated to buy a full stack Mango today was v sour, this wasn't good at all

Custard bun 3.2nett It's really incredible. The same complaint about the type of bun, being too dense and creamy, would have preferred a fluffier type But the custard is godly. The perfect texture, between lightness and density, just very voluptuous. Flavour was absolutely amazing too and sweetness was perfect. Even the temperature was perfect, it's kept chilled and so having it right there, it was even better than when I took away. I inhaled this. We were supposed to share but I couldn't help but finish it and told my friend to get another one for herself Must try, dining in

Pear Tart! Have actually seen and walked past YM Bakery at PLQ mall multiple times, however this is my FIRST time trying it! They are an unpretentious no-frill bakery! They have a wide selection of tarts, and at affordable pricing! Ordered a Peary Peart Tart ($27.50) to celebrate a family birthday occasion! Pear tarts are quite rare to find, and this was a masterpiece! I especially loved the buttery crispy hard crust shells! The pear was also so nicely poached! If you are ordering whole tarts, you can FB msg them to make your reservation 2 days beforehand. Payment will be required via paynow/paylah to confirm your order. You can inform them whether you want your tart cut/uncut. They also provided complimentary Happy Birthday sign and candles!

Caramelised Onions & Cheese Toastie Crisp and tangy croissant cradling a molten mix of cheese and golden, slow-cooked onions. The sweetness of the onions plays beautifully against the savoury richness and every bite feels like a warm blanket on a cool day.

Torta della nonna - Lots of pine nuts on top and within! - Taste was light with a prominent vanilla bean flavour, reminding me of a nougat which I enjoyed though it became a little one-dimensional after awhile. - Ricotta provided a mild milkiness, filling had a densely thick texture. - Crust was buttery sweet with a crumbly, biscuit-like bite similar to shortbread 🥧
