Tender, and most importantly you can taste the wok hei! Wish there was more sauce though. See my profile for more reviews of the other stalls here
Yew chuan claypot , 01-73
I don’t always think to order duck but today I’m glad I did! Super yummy and tender and not overly salty like some! See my profile for more reviews of the other stalls here
Ah xiao braised duck #b1-43
I can never resist whenever I pass by! Reliably good!

The original vadai b1-32
I really shouldn’t, but I did! 🤣
Always reliably good!
Supposed to have been an original Singaporean invention around Farrer Park in the 1950s

Petite portion by delivery. Great tasting menu though all portions are tiny except for the main meat and 1/2 sweet potato. Loved the pickled cucumber, sweet potato, chicken, onsen egg. It’s imperative to get the giant 1/2 sweet potato which was yummy & kept me full

And appreciate that the cup is more secure than the usual ones. But do feel that coffee places that don’t offer the option of ceramic cups for dine-in are missing something. Noticed most customers were ordering the ang moh coffee options so shall have to try that next time
One of my old-timer, all-time faves at Amoy market. Look at all the silky smooth mushroom I got for $1!
It may be a thing for some but I really didn’t appreciate the two eyeballs in my soup. I guess they needed to add body to the soup cos there was barely any meat or radish but the two bouncy eyeballs took up quite a bit of space. Maybe it’s like when people grind up all animal body parts to make sausage or burger.
I appreciate rising inflation and that companies need to cut costs but the few local sushi belt chains’ quality and quantity just seems to keep dropping all through covid & even post covid. Nevertheless this Genki even till recently had better quality than some other Genki’s so had some hopes for it. Almost all items were actually tiny, ultra petite, hilarious sized. Ordered again and again but almost all the dishes had been downsized. Had a $33 meal (just my portion) and wasn’t full, not sure if I would be visiting again
Thought I would save myself the hassle of ordering 2or 3 plates salmon sushi and get the mini don instead. But turned out to be micro- 4 thin slices of salmon with abt two sushi portions of rice. Out of curiosity I ordered the salmon sushi to see if would be better/thicker/less frozen looking. Nope, actually more frozen looking haha
