Acai This was rlly meh. The acai was damn cold and it's quite sandy. For all I know maybe this is the most natural state and how it should taste without additional flavourings and binders.

There are so many fruits in this which makes it so refreshing, different fruit textures in every spoonful! The acai berry is also not sour like other berries, which makes this whole bowl feel sweet using natural sugars. Overall, I really like how acai bowl makes you feel like you are eating healthy, yet it doesn’t feel like a torture eating it (unlike salad🤣) 💰: $9.80 📈: 9/10

Guacamole And hummus Bowl So Glad that I manage to return to this place before it closed down for good..

Generous and delicious guacamole bowls, but... They have officially closed on 14 June 2018 😟 How fortunate for me to be there on their final day of operation, but unfortunate for those office workers in the area because they'll no longer be able to enjoy these $15 bowls of healthiness filled with greens, quinoa, tofu, some other toppings, generous scoops of guacamole and hummus and crispy shards of tortilla chips. And the best thing is the feeling of satisfaction (rather than uncomfortably stuffed) after you finished your meal.

Guacamonster 2.0 and Guac & Hummus Bowl ($15 each) •Love that the Guacamonster comes with two scoops of guacamole and sweet potato cubes which were baked till slightly crispy! •Super worth it with the Entertainer 1for1!

Fish and chips Quite big portion of fish and chips. I also tried the cake, recommended to check this cafe out!

Iced latte I remember the location as fresh fruits lab and loved their stuff. Was surprised to see another cafe but realised it’s by the same people that owned the previous place. The coffee was fragrant and balanced. I will need to go back for food the next time. But I really liked the aesthetic it has a very French Bistro vibe Also the paper straw that they gave me didn’t disintegrate after a few sips.

Soft Shell Crab Burger ($19++) Crispy soft shell crab with lettuce, tomatoes and homemade chili crab sauce, served with fries and fruit salad .

Hens Eggs A much refined take on the classic British eggs and soldiers; Jaan’s Hens Eggs had a really intriguing blend of flavours. Think a rich and silky bright orange yolk that is well-infused with the herby aroma of rosemary, gently cradled between sliced truffle and sits on a soft cauliflower custard throne. On the side, to amp up the luxe factor, the caviar and mushroom jam adds a briny and savoury punch to the smokey oozy egg. Mixing it all up, I enjoyed the decadents when the elements came together and it nicely balance out with the sticks of toasted bread. Part of the 5-course lunch menu - $158++

Palate Cleanser - Earl Grey Sorbet Another humble yet eye-opening treat, the palate cleanser was a delightful mix of earl grey sorbet, with fruit tea jelly, pomelo, delicate bay leaf espuma and a touch of lemon. Part of the 5-course lunch menu - $158++

Sweet Summer Tomato A herbaceous number to really open up your taste buds, the Sweet Summer Tomato was a burst of freshness especially with the crown of herbs and icy basil sorbet. Stuffed with more basil and creamy burrata cheese, the vibrant sphere was also juicy and well-seasoned. Adding that much-need oomph, the ring of black olive crumbs had the perfect hint of tangy as well as savouriness. Part of the 5-course lunch menu - $158++

Common Man Fluffy Pancakes ($24) Common Man Fluffy Pancakes ($24) I was honestly really excited for the pancakes, considering these were thick! The pancakes came with caramelised bananas and walnuts, salted caramel sauce, nutty crumble & berry coulis. Ngl this didn't taste like a pancake, but more like a cakey texture, which was dense and slightly dry esp at parts without the sauce. It also got jelak so you gotta share this. Kinda expected more for the price, and I'd defo prefer some fluffy pancakes for brunch! Their other dishes might be better tho! Overall Rating: 6/10

Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18) It was extremely crowded during brunch on weekends, but since it was near the area we decided to give their food a try. Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18) Look at that cheese! This croissant was filled with Ham, Bechamel & aged cheddar cheese. Certainly a hearty option for brunch, and it's a combination of flavours and texture that can't really go wrong. The portion might not be enough for some though!

Nitro Honey Oat Latte So good … words cannot describe how elevated this coffee is

Stuffed Chicken Roulade Stuffed chicken thigh meat with Ricotta cheese and mashed potatoes ($16.90). The dish was not too bad but wasn't filling.

Crab Meat Scramble From Chock Full Of Beans Had the pleasure of enjoying a crab meat scramble egg for brunch on the east side of the island, and it was delightful! The eggs were perfectly fluffy, and the generous chunks of fresh crab meat added a rich, savory flavor. Paired with some crispy garlic toast, it made for an incredibly satisfying meal. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to start your day. Highly recommend giving this dish a try if you're in the area!

long black ($4) I chose the Caldas Royale beans for its chocolate🍫 & pecan notes to match the Chocolate Waffle-gato. Though I would have preferred a stronger caffeine kick☕️, it wasn’t acidic & had a lingering smoky finish.

Affogato on a waffle?!! Literally the two things I was craving for melded into one😍 The 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐋𝐄-𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐎 ($𝟏𝟑) was soft & fluffy🧇, soaking up every last drop of the slightly bitter espresso chocolate drizzle! The vanilla ice cream didn’t melt quickly either 🍨

Cafe by day, gastro bar by night 📸: Margherita pizza + pepperoni, Mushroom and truffle pizza | Beer on tap: Singapore brewlander acid hop (pineapple sour IPA), Belgium Bavik Super Pils (Pilsner) 💸: $$ Nightcap has an ongoing partnership with @keenwaybread now and the dough is to die for. If you like your pizzas on the thinner side with a chewy(think sourdough bread) and light(fluffy and airy) crust, you will be hard-pressed to find another worthy cafe. Beers were as described; fresh and crisp, what you’d expect out of a tap. For beer drinkers who enjoys lagers, I’d highly recommend the super pilsner. For those with a more fruity palette, the pineapple sour IPA is just as worthwhile. Catch them before their beer menu revamp! (that’s what the staff said) Reservations are recommended as there are few seatings.

Crabmeat Linguine Located along the riverside of the idyllic Sungei Serangoon, Whisk & Paddle is one of our favourite spot for a nice relaxed afternoon. The only problem is that we ain't the only ones as there is often a long wait for a table and an even longer wait for food 😭😭😭. It used to get unbearably hot in the al fresco areaa during the afternoon but thank goodness they have extended the air conditioning to most parts of the cafe. One of favourite dishes here is the crabmeat linguine which features al dente linguine with a generous portion of crabmeat in a spicy tomato sauce topped with Italian parsley. We love the combination of the sweet yet slightly briny crabmeat with the tangy tomato sauce. The only problem is that you might end up reaching for the iced water if you bite on a chilli padi or two!

Flat White And while the 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 ($5.50) was smooth, we felt it was lacking in robustness. However, extra points for the two gem biscuits that came with it, evoking fond childhood memories.

Butter Croissant w Scrambled Eggs You can't really go wrong with the 𝗕𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗴𝗴𝘀 ($14.80). The crispy, flakey croissant was paired with a creamy scramble and a choice of either candied bacon or creamy dill mushrooms (we chose the former). The sweet-savoury bacon stole our hearts and we couldn't fault this dish.
