BOYLE’S COFFEE & LOVE BITES
.
.
I HAD to try Grain Bowl ($9, with a choice of 1 protein, 1 base, 3 sides and 1 onsen egg). I chose their satay marinated beef, fusilli agile olio, oven-baked cherry tomatoes, rosemary roasted potato with red onion, honey mustard dressing fine beans
.
.
We got ourselves a cup of coffee to end off the meal and it was a luxurious break from Koufu coffee
.
.
Overall, I left feeling like i had a perfectly balanced, light and healthy meal. Each ingredient was well-seasoned and cooked nicely. It was just the meal I needed after a week of intense msg-filled food. Plus, the portion size was a quite big for me as well. I would definitely come back to eat their bowls (I would want to try their burger next!)

Cendol ($2): Sadly, they no longer used the short and stubby green cendol anymore! And it was lacking a kick from the gula melaka
炒粿条($4): Waited a good 30mins for this! I would say it’s worth it if you eat it fresh (don’t dabao) The flavour was on point, but I would have preferred if they used the actual Penang thin & super smooth kway teow and if it had more wok hei
Chicken Kway Teow Teng ($5): the noodles were soooooo heavenly, it was silky, smooth, thin and slightly chewy to the bite. It was DEFINITELY Malaysian noodles, I don’t understand why we don’t use these smooth noodles instead of our normal Singaporean Keat teow? The soup was very light in taste but it didn’t matter cause the noodles were the star. The chicken was insanely tender and flavorful!!!! I loved this dish, perfect as a post work out dish
Another classic that we always get at Italian restaurants! Pizza with Mozzarella, Prosciutto, Rocket Lettuce, Shaved Parmesan Cheese. It was goooood, I would recommend getting this.
This was such a pleasant surprise! It came with a dom shaped crust over the bowl. When we unveiled the ravioli, the smell of truffle, cheese and cream hits your nose! The ravioli was snuggled in a thick & creamy mushroom sauce that was so yummy! I would definitely recommend getting this dish
We had to order this Italian classic! Weirdly, it didn’t have the usual creamy luscious coating that comes from the rich mixture of cheese and egg. It was rather dry and pork-flavour infused. Quite different from our normal take on carbonara
This dish was beautifully wrapped in the shape of a swan! It had a very strong seafood flavour with a generous portion of seafood. However it has a subtle Asian undertone to it, which was a bit weird
We could really taste the crab flavour in this Rissotto! Sadly, it was over seasoned with salt
CHILI BAN MIAN ($5)
.
.
This was good old comfort food! The chili ban mian just made my day!! It had super smooth and chewy handmade noodles, well-seasoned minced meat, stewed mushroom, soft boiled egg, veg and lard. The sauce and soft boiled egg together formed a silky coating over all the ingredients. Because of the black sauce it reminded me of the black thick noodles we used to eat in KL every year

This was good comfort food!! A gem hidden right below my office

BEEF SUKIYAKI DON KEISUKE ($13.90++)
.
.
I was soooo pumped for this when I heard about this place. I love how the entire experience of it - them cooking the beef slices and putting the finishing touches in front of you! We opted for the Beef Sukiyaki Don, premium-cut beef, simmered in a special sukiyaki sauce, koshihikari rice, shimeji mushrooms, braised tofu, shirataki noodles and cabbage. The beef was cooked to medium rare as requested. It was still juicy and moist but a little towards the chewy side. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce or the toufu or veg below the heaps of meat.
.
.
At $13.90++, the set came with the beef bowl, onsen egg, miso soup and assorted pickles, which I think is very worth it for the price! I’d definitely come back if I were craving for a comforting and hearty bowl of beef don.

KIM KEAT HOKKIEN MEE ($10)
.
.
It has the right flavours from its thick porky, seafood-y broth that it was steeped in, but it didn’t blow my mind. Maybe it’s the overhype via social media, or the lack of a 45min queue (what a Singaporean), or the fact that he merely reheated the precious batch of Hokkien Mee. Yes, it was quite a good Hokkien Mee, but I was expecting more!
.
.
What I do LOVE about the dish was the specia addition of DEEP FRIED PORK BELLY?! So sinful but sooooo good 🤤
