BEEF SUKIYAKI DON KEISUKE ($13.90++)

I was soooo pumped for this when I heard about this place. I love how the entire experience of it - them cooking the beef slices and putting the finishing touches in front of you! We opted for the Beef Sukiyaki Don, premium-cut beef, simmered in a special sukiyaki sauce, koshihikari rice, shimeji mushrooms, braised tofu, shirataki noodles and cabbage. The beef was cooked to medium rare as requested. It was still juicy and moist but a little towards the chewy side. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce or the toufu or veg below the heaps of meat.

At $13.90++, the set came with the beef bowl, onsen egg, miso soup and assorted pickles, which I think is very worth it for the price! I’d definitely come back if I were craving for a comforting and hearty bowl of beef don.

I was surprised at how creamy the omelette was! (I was so tempted to ask the waitress if they put heavy cream in the egg). Other than that, I l wished it could have been a little more undercook and that the unagi flavour would have surfaced a little more.
Grilled chicken served with lemon and yuzu pepper. The skin was mind-blowing! It was sooo thin and crispy, it was as if they replaced it with the suckling pig skin. The meat was tender and moist but mildly flavoured (which was intentional). It was well completed with this heavy and intense yuzu pepper paste like sauce. What an interesting dish both in flavours and textures.
Torched fresh salmon topped with mayo and Ikura roe pearls. Cant go wrong with this!
