Just try the tacos and beef steak. Do order medium rare, its really tender and juicy.. best dish on the menu. Skip the buffalo wings, salt is free here till you can't taste the chicken. Brownie is not bad too but as usual its overly sweet.
It's a place to chill though.
Fried cauliflower fritters. The first few bites were good, crispy and flavorful but left it cold, the batter just became very greasy and inedible. The GyuDon is not bad though the beef that day was a little too dry and generous with the fried shallots but they kinda overpower the beef. Overall its not too bad. Iwill try the fried soft bones next time.
For starters we ordered truffle fries, mid wings, grilled squid, vegetarian flat bread and sea bass croquettes. True to the waiter's recommendation, the sea bass croquettes were realy good. Crispy on the outside, moist and flavorful inside, no fishy smell at all. The rest of the starters are ok, grilled squid is not too bad but we left it too long so by the time we ate its cold and a little too chewy.
For the mains, we ordered pork schnitzel, a little too tough, dry and compact, its more like chinese fried pork chops sat on a bed of mash and peas! Yuck! Peas..sorry..pass.. My colleague who is a veg said the mushroom risotto is good.. creamy and light.
The berries cheesecake was ok but the greentea cake tasted like a few days old, dry, a little stale and cloying sweet. The sorbert with papadum was good.. i meant what can go wrong with icy stuff but creative..papadum on a sorbert!!!
A first! Soft serve with waffles!! We ordered salted gula melaka with gula melaka mochi and the earl grey lavender with biscuits. Both soft serves are rich and creamy however they are too sweet (if only the hold the sugar just a slight and it will be perfect). Waffles are good! Crisp on the outside and soft inside and its still warm! Sadly the condiments we ordered are quite a letdown; No gula melaka taste or smell in the gula melaka mochi.. disappointing.. Next time i will try the chocolate or if they have plain waffles that will be so good! Just hold the sugar!
The coffee is good. We ordered decaff since i can't take coffee but just want a sip. The fish and chips is not bad; crispy outside and moist inside but my friend said its alittle fishy. Pork belly is not bad too. Roast chicken is tender but on the salty side. Desserts are way too sweet for my liking, even for my friend who loves desserts commented that it was too sweet. The food comes in very small portion and in 3s so if you have more than 3 persons, you have to order another portion. We had to order a few extra dishes since we weren't full and their dinner menu is limited. For that kind price, its not really worth going again though i read their sunday brunch is good..maybe just maybe will try it. Coffee drinkers will like this place.
Best KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) among all i have tried. I ordered 4 flavors; original, spicy, soy and garlic..it was so good! Its tender, not overly dry, the sauce is not cloying and over and crispy outside. Its good even when its delivered. Their rice is good too.. i just don't know how to to descirbe it.. i had their white seaaweed rice the first time at their first outlet at haji area, it was good! Don't ask me why their rice can be so good. Its just very flavorful and tasty. Their spicy spam and tuna rice burgers are also very good! Definitely a must to order along with their FC.
This is how the burgers look like. 4 of us shared these 4 burgers. We had the smokey, crab, original and spicy.
I like most of the beef burgers except the crab one, it has that "xing wei". The beef patties are juicy and tasty but too small and pricey though. Good to go if you are willing to splurge a little more for gourmet burgers
It was a birthday celebrations for 2 bffs. The ladyfingers were good! It wasn't spicy nor salty and it was flavorful with hints of the hae bee(i think). The ayam buah keluak was good too, the sauce was balance. I was scare that it might be very salty n mushy but they did a good one. The crab soup was also not too bad. But the beef rendang was a bit of a letdown, we expected it to be spicy with a punch but it was a letdown.. No hint of spiciness and not as flavorful as other peranakan eateries. Overall its not bad but 2 of us had a mild diarrhoea the next day, nor sure if its becoz of our weak stomach though it wasn't spicy at all. (I was very ok after eating those china mala pot/ grilled fish..etc)
The chicken wings were crisp and delicious! Pasta was not too bad, a little salty for me though.
Crisp and great flavor! It tasted fresh and chewy but not to the point of like chewing a gum.
