Chashu collagen fettuccine Chashu collagen fettuccine and basil & chiziban pizza This pasta was pretty plain, but pretty creative reedition of a ramen dish. The pizza was pretty average too. Overall the place is worth visiting especially with burrple! Not too busy place and food is not bad. We got two pasta, one pizza, one toaste, two salads and five drinks for $95.50. Very reasonable price point.

Gourmet aglio olio and bakwa toastie We ordered the gourmet aglio olio and bakwa toastie. The aglio olio was under the pasta deal, and the wok hey was very strong and the pasta was so fragrant. Did not expect aglio olio to go well with Bak Kwa, interesting try. The bakkwa toastie was also well prepared, will try to copy to make a bakkwa sandwich like the one we had too. Food is quite good!

Summer salad Tried dining at the Bee Cheng Hiang Grillery We got both the salads under the appetiser which enjoyed. Interesting take on salads with some bakkwa influence. The white thing is a yuzu foam and there is a citrus vinaigrette. Quality of the food is quite good too. The wait staff are also quite friendly and attentive.

Chausson aux Pommes Some people might familiar with this name, as Nicher used to sell their artisan pastries at Tiong Bahru. Opened by ex-MBS chef, he now continue baking at this location; which could be very far from town area. In this outlet, he now focused much on French bakes instead. Chausson aux Pommes is actually the Apple Turnovers, which is filled with apple sauce in it. Something mix between sweet and sour, with soft texture of skin. You also get enjoy your Burpple Beyond here with one for one bakes.

Beef slice noodles with beef balls We actually purchased $18 deal under Chope flash sale. The deal included 2 sliced beef noodles with add ons, 2 sides and 2 desserts. As a huge fan of beef noodles, we feel that the herbal soup stock can be more rich and hopefully the stall can provide some chilli padi for more oomph! The beef slices were really tender and the beef balls were really well seasoned! This is worth a try and we can see it as a comfort food on a rainy day ☔️ 7.5/10

No seating area. Takeaway only Mala noodles are manageable, like eating xiao la at a regular mala stall. Wait times can be long as theres only 1 staff handling orders and cooking. Good truffle umami flavour with quite a few ingredients Had a chance to try their Truffle mushroom noodle bento ($12.90) and was really impressed! The springy noodles were well coated with very umami packed sauce that has both good elements of a strong mushroom and truffle oil flavour. The mushrooms were well braised and were springy as well! The dumplings I chose for the set were chilli prawn filling, and I liked it due to its strong prawn flavour, with a heat that kicks in after. The appetiser bean sprouts were well seasoned with vinegar, making them really addictive! I must say this is a well rounded meal, great to order back to office during lunch!

Portuguese Egg Tarts Mother-In-Law is a kiosk in the basement of Havelock II which sells artisanal Portuguese egg tarts which are handmade from scratch and baked fresh daily. The difference between Portuguese egg tarts and the regular egg tarts (think: Tai Cheong) is that they are made of puff pastry (think: croissant) instead of short crust tart pastry. They also tend to be sweeter with a caramelised top. You therefore get a good contrast between the flaky and crispy pastry and soft and creamy egg custard with egg bite. I am usually a fan of the regular egg tart but rather enjoyed MIL's signature egg tart. Their puff pastry was super crisp and butter whilst their egg custard was rich and smooth and reminded me of steamed egg. Besides the signature egg tart, MIL also has a range of other flavours such as orh nee, ham & mushroom and chicken rendang?!? Is this then the equivalent of an open face curry puff? 😂😂😂

Egg tarts in many flavours Ordered @mil.eggtart on @pickupp.sg to try and they have a variety of flavours! I got a mixed box with 3 original egg tarts and 1 apple crumble, ondeh ondeh and ham. They're not bad and not too sweet, just that the crust can be a bit hard at times so I would have liked it more if it was more crisp! Northern Malaysian Coconut US Beef Stew with Sourdough $22 A very lemak , 36 hour sous-vide US beef short plate and brisket with rendang-esque housemade coconut stew brimming with spices. Melt-in-your-mouth would be the most appropriate superlative. It’s topped with jiggly onsen egg and served with plenty of toasted sourdough to scoop up the saucy goodness with. - Taste: 3.5/5

Mr Kakuni Toast $19 I appreciate the unique takes on brunch at @evanskitch, the chef has really put his personal stamp on the dishes here. - Slabs of glisteningly fatty char siew sauce-glazed pork belly slices are layered over a bed of perfectly scrambled egg. The meat is cooked for 36 hours until meltingly soft, then aburi-ed for a smoky finish. - Chicken floss, as well as scallion, furikake and chilli strands add a decidedly Japanese fluorish, but what truly takes it leftfield is the passionfruit sauce and pickled papaya buried innocuously under all the under ingredients, lending a tropical sweetness to each bite. Does it all work together? Not quite, as the almost multitudinous mix and match of components can confuse the palate at times. It’s a good dish overall, but a little editing could have gone a long way. - Taste: 3/5

North Malaysian Curry Beef Stew Very delicious brunch cafe with fusion dishes. Flavours are very balanced. Smoked salmon, mentaiko with pork floss is a great combination. The curry beef stew is also very fragrant, meat is tender, and goes well with the sourdough bread.

Iberico Secreto w/ Creamy Truffle Linguine Oh boy was this good. The pasta, iberico bits, and creamy truffle sauce all came together so well. Didn't even feel jelak at all.Try it!

Grilled Habanero Chicken ($22) Juicy, tender, well-seasoned chicken. Throw in crispy charred bits, and you've got a delectable piece of meat worth droolng over. Coleslaw was light and tangy, adding a nice crunch to refresh the palate between bites. Mashed potato (?) was kinda pasty though.

Tipo Pasta Bar🍝 Went to Tipo Pasta Bar last week and ordered their Linguine (Chilli Garlic) and built my own pasta - Pink Sauce, Garlic Chips, Smoked Chicken, Swiss Brown Mushrooms ($17.90 before GST and Svc Charge)!😇 Overall ratings 8/10! Pasta was not bad but nothing too fancy🥹 Flavour of the pasta itself mentions chilli garlic too but it dosen't taste like it (staff did mention that the flavour is very mild tho haha) Would visit again only if I am craving for pasta😅

Pasta! Visited Tipo Pasta Bar for the first time! Realised that their pasta menu is actually very similar to Tipo Strada! Both outlets have the build your own pasta menu! The only slight differences for the pasta menu is the fixed bowl where their selections are slightly different! Here is what I tried this time round: -Absolute Alfredo for Gemelli (parsley pasta) [$17.90++]: Love their creamy white sauce! This came with swiss brown mushrooms and chicken (which was more like steamed chicken to me than "smoked chicken") -Build your own pasta: Linguine Chilli Garlic Pasta + Aglio Olio + White Clams [$14.4++]: Free toppings were included and we added ALL and it was a WRONG choice lol! The toppings added were chilli flakes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic chips and birds eye chilli. The addition of the birds eye chilli and chilli flakes plus it was a chilli garlic pasta SUPER FIERY! I couldn't stomach more than 3 scoops of it whoops! Lesson learnt, just stick to adding garlic chips only the next time!
