Randomly walked into this chain tempura shop with our aching legs and we were rewarded with this bowl. At this price, we got a bed of warm fluffy rice with lightly battered prawn, squid, mushroom, scallop, lotus root and green beans. We loved the tendon sauce, not too cloyingly sweet or salty (we read that they improved their salt formula with less salt) but just the right amount of each to elevate the taste of the well fried pieces. I’m sure it’s not the best around here especially with two huge tempura names just round the corner, but it’s super affordable for the portion and quality and it definitely fed us very well.
