More Reviews of good food at 5 Little Monkeys Cafe

The food here was great, but I enjoyed the setting best of all :) It's definitely one of the best cafes to sit down for a chill afternoon, or even study with a cup of coffee! When I was here it was almost completely empty, and the staff were friendly and polite. Located on the rooftop, there was a beautiful view out the windows and a neat little outdoor area as well! A pity that they will be changing location soon, as I've already fallen in love with this little out-of-the-way cafe. ☺️

Here was what we ordered for lunch: Nyonya Assam Pedas Fish, Chicken Curry, Ladies Finger w Dried Shrimp Chili and Special Omelette.

Situated at the 11th floor of Pico creative centre, this is a humble café where you can enjoy great view and food at the same time. My favourite dish has got to be the ladies finger since its dried shrimp chili complemented my plate of rice really well.

Yeah nah this isn't the full portion lol there's 3 of these pieces. Didn't think it's gonna deserve a post on its own but boy was I wrong(thus the late picture with only 1 piece left). Crispy on the outside yet not too hard, and delightfully fluffy in the middle, it's the perfect vessel for the myriad of scrumptious sauces

Generous portion of fish maw and lightly flavoured minced meat. I prefer stronger tasting soups though so this was the only dish we didn't finish

Bean paste taste wasn't very strong so it was like stewed pork ribs. Pretty tender pork ribs though so it was quite good

Sour and citrusy, the soup was almost drinkable and I really liked it. Nicely balanced with sweetness, it wasn't too spicy. Fish was extremely meaty as well, 3 generous fillets

Quite a comforting rendition and my friend who was ill absolutely loved it

Tender pieces of beef in a decent gravy. Thick and not too spicy

A venue on top of Pico Creative Center is 5 Little Monkeys, a nice simple cafe with great food. This time ordered the french toast and I must admit the platting could have been better. But the taste was really good.
The toast itself was warm and fluffy without the taste of eggs. There was enough sugar on top to add sweetness to the toast but you can always add their maple syrup like me on the top to have that extra sugar kick. Overall, a very nice pleasant cafe dish to go with black coffee.

Pro Tip: They have 5% discount for people who works in the building so go up and enjoy your meal.

For mango lovers, this is probably for you! There are fresh mangoes in the mango pudding and comes with milk to pair with it.

An afforable breakfast set that comes with a choice of drink. Ambience was quiet, spacious and cosy, a good place for meetings, space to do work and what not!

Turkey bacon was well cooked. I liked that the toasts were crunchy. Pity that the hollandaise sauce wasn't as good as expected. But for the price it's value for money. 😋

This cafe is located at pico art 11th floor. Nearest MRT station will be lavender. Cafe has great city view.

I’ve order this as it is as part of the new dish in the menu. Beef is very tender and the portion they serve was quite generous. Just think it will be even better if the rice can be added over the sauce.

Will try other dishes next time!

Ordered this with some other side dishes (which took a long while to come) but we were really full by the time the other food arrived. Super good zhup and quite a lot of fish meat!

Would count this to be a lil pricey for bout 7 prawns but the chilli is so on point ☝️it serves as a sweet atomic mask for on petai.

Hidden away on the eleventh storey of PICO Art building is a casual eatery called "5 Little Monkeys Cafe" that serves pretty decent Peranakan food. There seems to be a slightly healthy slant to their cooking, which means the dishes tend to taste lighter.
On my most recent visit, I tried the "her peoh" soup. It has quite a lot of cabbage, mushrooms and thick slices of the rehydrated dried fish maw stuffed with minced meat. Their house-made "sambal belacan" is the best thing to enjoy the dish with.

The dish is quite OK but the price is on the high end. Not much difference in terms of taste to other western food stall ones.

The chef uses mixed mushrooms! Yummy! Chicken is well marinated and it's tender. And prices is very reasonable.

The formidably-sized fish head tastes like it was abducted while on its way to school just hours ago, whilst elsewhere the tangy, boisterous curry tangoes with your tongue with the unbridled sensuality of a The Cathay basement dance studio burlesque class instructor. 3.9/5
