The Night Market

There’s a full range from junior to original to extra dark hot chocolate/ one with salt. We enjoyed the extra dark one that had a nice but not overpowering bitterness balanced out with the sweetness. They are also selling an interesting campfire hot chocolate for $8 that involves a blowtorch-smoked maple and marshmallow combination.

Expect fall-off-the-bone lamb shanks, paella, Southern fried chicken, kebabs, mulled wine and filled donuts out of a food cart. A must-go if you are in Melbourne during winter months!

The iconic Queen Victoria Market now opens at night as well, but only every Wednesday till end of August. It's their Winter Night Market.

Expect lots of food and drinks stall and live entertainment taking centre stage at this market. But also expect very long queue for each food stalls, with prices slightly higher than elsewhere too. But the lively atmosphere at this atas 'pasar malam' there was something I had to experience since I was in Melbourne for winter.

They’re quite pricey but also a very big portion so do share this sinful but delicious dessert. It was so hard deciding on choices ‘cause every flavour sounded great but we went with #gaytimedonut and #nutelladonut. The gaytime one was a vanilla honeycomb mix and we enjoyed the crunchy honeycomb bits. I personally preferred the Nutella one for its complex mix of sweet chocolate, nutty goodness from hazelnuts along with actual crunchy hazelnut bits inside a crisp yet fluffy donut. 1 week left for this #summernightmarket!
