(S$3.50 for Century Egg and Slippery Meat Chok)
Located at Blk 421, Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, #01-1149 Singapore 560421. Nice smell coriander and fish slice chok, $4. Pipping hot, silky smooth fish porridge! We love it when they add slices of thin ginger in it too, it adds flavours to the porridge. Yummy! @thefamouszhou #hungryunicornsg #thefamouszhou #thefamouszhouporridge #粥出名 #porridge
Located at Blk 421, Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, #01-1149 Singapore 560421. We had the first porridge on their menu - Century Egg and Slippery Meat Chok, $3.50. All
I could say, this is The Perfect lunch for a cold Wednesday! A smooth and flavourful bowl of silky porridge. Love the taste that’s not too salty and also that a lil thick texture feel as we stir and eat every mouthful. They are also very generous in their ingredients of lean pork slices and Century egg! Together with that fresh, crispy you tiao, indeed it’s a bowl of comforting food that warms not just our tummy and also our heart! 👍🏼 @thefamouszhou #hungryunicornsg #thefamouszhou #thefamouszhouporridge #粥出名 #porridge
It's located at a coffeeshop beside De Yi Secondary School.
The porridge tastes pretty smooth and flavoursome but sadly, turned watery while we're eating halfway through. 粥出水了..
Also felt rather thirsty after eating. But their fish porridge is commendable. They use mackerel fish instead of the cheaper snakeheads! I've never had mackerel porridge before &i would say it's quite a wise choice to use this fish cos of it's sweetness and firm texture (wouldn't get disintegrated easily!)
If you fancy some smooth & silky porridge, look no further than this stall owned by MediaCorp actor Chew Chor Meng. The consistency of the porridge was good & texture was very smooth; each bowl comes with free youtiao (very crispy) too.
I like my porridge thick and flavourful (like the one at 628 market), so the watery and slightly bland ones here didn't quite appeal to me. That being said, my Mermaid Chok came with fresh scallops, shrimps and fish slices, and a very crispy dough fritter. The side dishes weren't great on their own, but they served as excellent flavour boosters to the otherwise tasteless porridge.
