The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (The Rail Mall)

If you are looking for a place to relax and get some work done? I strongly suggest not to visit this outlet at the Rail Mall. Staff was talking about the customers in an unpleasant way in Malay unaware that my friends and I had a malay friend with us. Uncomfortable and unpleasant experience. Extremely disappointed as I used to be a regular at this chain of Coffeebean. Just a heads up for anyone looking to visit this cafe granted that your experience might be different from mine.

In a desperate attempt to look for dessert after breakfast at Springleaf Prata House @ Rail Mall to evade to somewhere with a proper cellular connection (regulars would know that the Springleaf Prata Place there has exceptionally bad 3G/4G service) and to burn a bit of time before heading to school for a Saturday noon lecture, I ended up at an unlikely spot just few shops away for a piece of cake. Admittedly the Banana Walnut Cake was pretty good — simple and I would even say, nostalgic. The banana flavours perfume through the entire cake (just like those from Bengawan Solo, though with a much more balanced amount of sweetness), while the cake itself was quite light and fluffy. Do asked for the cake to be warmed up so you get a slightly crustier exterior which is pretty comforting.

4.0/5.0 (The lettuce could have been shaken dry. There was quite a bit of water residue.)

Standard latte. Glad that the tiramisu wasn't too sweet.
