This is probably the best ORH NEE I ever had in Singapore, itโ€™s so thick and flavorful. The ginkgo nuts were perfectly roast, cooked and blended so well together. Very fragrant and smooth without being too sweet or oily.

Pan fried the authentic Teochew style. Evenly Crisp without the layer of oil.

Soft and light. Have not tried Chinese Spinach cooked in this method.
Must try.

The cold pig trotter jelly is one of our many Teochew favourites. Full of collagen goodness and savoury jelly, it never fail to lift our appetite for more.
.
While the small upmarket restaurant has a lavish decor, I wouldn't say so for the service. The Captain only has recommendations for abalone, sharkfins, and 3-kg live lobsters. When I'm pushed with expensive dishes like a tourist, I get turned off.
.
We had another dish - Stir-fried Fish Toufu with Broccoli. Entire family found the fish toufu tasted weird and not too fresh but odd that nobody said anything. By the time I had my first bite, the dish was half gone after having gone a full round around the table. Only then did all chorused and voiced their thought.
.
Captain says its normal of the foul smell. You know, toufu gone sour that kind of smell? She took a spoon and ate from our plate. Took another spoon to ask the Chef to eat. I found it really amusing by then. And she later returned to insist this was freshly cooked and normal to taste sourish. She went on to apologise and removed ALL the fish toufu from our plate claiming that it didn't suit our appetite. She left behind the broccoli. .
We got charged in full for the dish at the end of the day and my FIL paid though I sensed that he was unhappy. While I wasn't certain if he wanted me to make noise, I was sure he would never return again.
.
Had my FIL been not around and my SIL was having her birthday meal, I'd have her waive that dish or send the samples to NEA. #seewhoisright
.
I would say this lady has the lousiest service and doesn't know how to handle customer complains.

Both the Ngo Hiang and liver roll had thin Beancurd crispy wrap around. Beautifully coupled with sweet thick cameral taste sauce! The liver roll has a nice unique bitter taste! Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea

This Teochew mui served in this form is indeed appealing but this really taste like the salty version of food your grandma would cook for you when you are sick-- rice, veg and meat. Not a fan of this dish but I heard that this is authentic Teochew. So diehard Teochew you probably will like this. Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea

The duck meat, egg and taupok in this disk taste mediocre but the sauce that's matching them is really superb! It is light, fragrant and sweet. Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea

I don't really like this dish because it taste confusing in my mouth and I'm not accustomed to such taste. However, if you have been searching high and Low for this uniquely Teochew legendary dish, you know where to try now. Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea

The Siew Mai here tasted like compact and concentrated Teochew meat patty. There's no prawn in there and the skin is so thin that it doesn't take like a Siew Mai if you ate with your eyes closed. Pretty unique and goes perfectly well with the ginger slices and vinegar dip. Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea

This was surprisingly one of the best dish that we had for the dinner! Huge juicy oyster coupled with with lightly floured crisp egg! Chilli ALERT! The Chilli sauce makes the oyster egg even more mouthwatering! Xoxo, wet tissue bundled with Chinese tea ($3)

A dish which we always have during company's reunion lunch. This year is no different too. Tossing for good luck!
