Tiny diced sashimi with rice, could be a little more generous..? Your usual suspects of tamago, tuna, salmon, scallop and octopus. Part of their lunch set served with chawanmushi, starter (this time it was some pasta with crab meat that was meh: I miss the chicken seaweed!), soup, green tea. At $28, not the cheapest bara chirashi don around but at least it was fresh with a good variety. Wasabi here tasted very fresh too!
$14. Aburi & salmon skin roll with creamy mentaiko mayo. Salmon was sadly thin but I loved the contrast of textures with the crunch of salmon skin.
Tburu, also pronounced as tay-bu-ru. Another commonly mispronounced famous-chicken-outlet isn't called Cher-Cher, just saying.
This chirashi don was served with jellyfish, soup, chawanmushi, cabbage and japanese green tea.
A mixture of extremely fresh salmon sashimi and salmon aburi. Thumbs up for the really good wasabi.
Salmon Sashimi and Salmon Aburi served over Sushi Rice. This was perhaps quite different from the usual Don that I had earlier; the vinegared rice was substantially sweet though still sticky hence flavouring up the Don without the need of adding condiments such as soy sauce unlike the usual steamed rice that accompanies the Don. Salmon used was also bursting with freshness with each slice, and when had with the wasabi gives a shiok factor for the fresh wasabi definitely was not shy in giving the kick of numbness. For $20+, you get quite a number of sides from soup, Chawanmushi, cabbage, jellyfish and green tea; pretty value for money given its quality as well!
Fish is flown on directly from Japan 3 times a week.
