elevated local cuisine the food here is really good! we had the prawn noodle with kuay teow, hokkien mee and the ngoh hiang platter. the soup was very rich and flavorful, with a generous serving of prawns.

Shredded Cabbage I'm back. Given the high standards here, I should've guessed this classic dish would be great. Umami and wok hei, it's even topped with a ridiculous amount of lard. If any gripe, it's considered salty.

Salted egg crab medium Very nicely done, also the crab bee hoon (which we dug into already before remembering to take a photo) is recommended too. 2 medium crabs is good for ~6 to share.

Seafood X’mas Fiesta Set [$268] This was shiok! From Seafood Paradise of Paradise Group, we had their Seafood Xmas Fiesta Set that includes a Seafood Bucket, a box of mantous and 4 bottles of Carlsberg. The seafood came in a literal cute wooden bucket! It had Sri Lankan crab, Boston lobster, tiger prawns, mussels, scallops and squid on bell peppers, pumpkin and pearl corn. The original sauce that the seafood was done in was already very tasty, but they provide a box of 6 more sauces, which made it even more fun to have! There was wasabi mayonnaise, chilli crab sauce, creamy butter sauce, black pepper sauce, sweet Thai chilli sauce and a savoury Chef’s special sauce. Seafood was absolutely fresh, all of them were cooked just right and done sweet and tender. Especially loved how much roe our crab came with! Available till 31 Dec 2022.

Leng Saap I seem to keep returning. I recommended this to the family. Last time I forgot to mention it's not just ribs, but also spine. Good fatty meat.

PenLaos Signature Grilled Chicken I seem to keep returning. I was more impressed by this chicken this time, perhaps because I took the thigh haha. Perfectly executed and lovely sauce.

Som Tam I seem to keep returning. Thai salads are not usually what I'd order, but in a group it's a fun eat.

Salted Egg Fried Rice A very well cooked dish of fried rice that has little surprises like sliced fish inside. Definitely tasty although not what I had in mind for a salted egg fried rice.

Lunch Special Stewed Chicken with Chinese Wine and Basil with Nasi Lemak (S$8.30) Topup S$1 for Sprite The coconut based rice was soft and fluffy. The chicken was quite tender although I wish for a stronger basil taste.

$80 Set (save ~$35) Ma Seung Sek serves authentic Cantonese dishes that are crafted with carefully selected ingredients! Try the Burpple Beyond Set B ($80++) and you’ll get to try their Pork Ribs with Salted Egg Yolk sauce and Cold Free-range Chicken with Szechuan Peppercorns and Chilli Sauce, among many other dishes.

Assam fish! Tzechar from 81 Seafood Restaurant! We were finding new Tze Char places to try in the west to try out and decided to give this place a visit! Here are the items we tried: Assam fish head ($28): This was recommended by the staff. If not we would have went with the typical curry fish head. The assam fish head turned out to be not bad. Quite meaty fish portions given. Love the sour sweet assam taste! Spicy Dry Chilli Chicken (Gong Bao chicken) ($12): While this was nice, we were quite shocked at the small portion of meat given! Beancurd with minced meat topping ($12): Another one of the dish recommended by the staff. Oyster Omelette ($12): This was not as crispy and fluffy as the typical oyster omelette I was expecting. The meal was almost $70 for 4 pax. The place is advertised as having no GST and no service charge. However, do note that the portions run quite small. Also, they have increased the prices of some of the dishes, but this was not reflected on the menu given to us. Hence, we only found out about the updated pricing when making payment (the menu items are all minimally $12 now instead of $10) Overall, the prices were slight affordable and food was decent tasting la, just need to be mindful that the portions are quite small.. They have indoor aircon and outdoor dining options. Do call head to make reservations for indoor seats, else you will be seated outdoor like us. They were quite crowded on a weekend dinner timing!

Salt egg fried prawns are a bit too wet. Would be better if the prawns could still retain the crispiness.
