Chinese style bbq Tried the new Meow Barbecue recently and it was a pretty good place for no frills BBQ. For someone who likes spicy food, I liked the seasoned meats more especially the chicken which was a surprise! The beef was tender as well and everything was in thin slices so they cooked quickly too. They also have other small dishes that you can order and eat, we had the tofu which had really strong flavours so they go well with rice. I also liked how everything was quick and efficient which was great because I was very hungry then (which explains the lack of pictures) 😂

Meow Signature Caramel Pudding How can you resist such adorable dessert? Served in this cute small bowl, the caramel pudding was soft and creamy, topped with a paw shape pudding as well.

Good burpple deal Love this place cause it’s a legit burpple deal. And the food quality is good. Love coming here to chill and hang out with friends. Their happy hour promotions are also pretty good!

Good food, even better service Went for the 20 sticks deal with 20 free sticks so total 40 sticks. Staff was super attentive and friendly, amazing team that is on the ball and delightful. Food is great, liked the different seasoning options. Ordered 2 Highball for $15 (happy hour). Thank you!

Taan @ Tyrwhitt - Worth it !! Burpple Deal : 1 for 1 - 20 sticks * Choose 10 items , 4 sticks each. Seasoning must be same for the 4 sticks per item . Service is good, staff patiently explained the deal and answered all our queries well. Food is good, has a warmer provided that kept our food hot for >1h. Happy hour for drinks till 8pm is a bonus! Frozen Kirin / Guinness / Highball . Recommended to reserve seat, especially during fri/weekend. 40 sticks total was a little too much for 2 pax, but staff offered to take away the remaining that we couldnt finish.

Unagi w mentai tamago ($22), snow crab pasta ($15) Unagi was quite small in portion. Mentai tamago combi is 👌🏻. Snow crab pasta taste like chilli crab sauce w lots of meat

Ok food for price (1 for 1) Ordered unagi fried rice - portion is small, unagi not visible but taste of unagi is evident. Seafood pasta came abit wet tasted abit more home cooked than restaurant style. Thought the oyster comes together with the seafood pasta but they claimed they served wrongly (and told me only when I was making payment) - suspect they do this with all tables who didn’t hit the min spending. Then say out of goodwill will give a 15% off for the 1 raw oyster. Overall, nice ambience but poor business ethics, won’t recommend

🐮 Gyuniku Shiogayaki Don ($18) They're pretty generous with the beef slices, which were pretty thinly cut and soft - except that they were q fatty so depends on your preference for meat. The sauce here was also much less compared to the Unatama don so it might be drier at some parts.

1 For 1 Kbbq Buffet Filling kbbq meal for 2 pax, had it with burpple's 1 for 1. Ordering comes with call number shown on TV screen, self service as well. Lots of condiments and meat! So worth it using 1 for 1 burpple deal!

Save Your Time And Don’t Come Here It really does not worth going there even with the beyond deals. With the deals it is gonna be $20 per pax. Sides dishes are prepared badly and roughly (a whole garlic! And the garlic tip wasnt even chope off for the slices). Meats are even worse. Beef are stuck together and even scissors can’t cut it apart haha. Our stoves spoiled half way through the meal, and the black grill paper kept getting onto the meat. It really doesn’t worth 💰20 dollars per pax AFTER 1f1, so save your time and choose another restaurant to eat mate!

1f1 kbbq for ~$17 per pax, quite worth but for $33… probably not. good variety of marinated meats! so didn’t get sick of the food like other kbbq. rlly liked the char siew & bak kwa pork belly and the pickled cucumbers & radish! but nothing super special. worth a try!

Grilled food! Back at Taan Asian Grill Bar! Here is what we ordered: -Grilled Mentaiko Salmon -Grilled Surume Ika Squid -Enoki Mushroom wrapped with Pork Belly in Teriyaki flavour -Japanese Eel Fried Rice The unagi fried rice is my fav carbs items here! The grilled squid was soft and tender! The first time we were here, we used the burpple beyond deals to redeem 1 for 1 on 20 skewer sticks! Go to place for Frozen Yuzu Beer! Great frozen beer - thick layer of foam was almost like an ice-blend consistency. Happy hour promo of $26 for 2 glasses was pretty worth it. Yuzu recommended, lychee was quite strange. Skewers wise, we ordered the Set of 8 for $15 which was quite worth it and we were very satisfied with the taste. Pork Belly, pork ribs, chicken wings, potato slices were all good. Added on the Foil-wrapped enoki ($6.90) and we loved the garlic topping.

Takeaway Late Night Snack Shishamo and pork ribs were my fav & it’s not hard to guess why. Prawn-Wah were alittle too hard & dry. Mushrooms tend to get soggy if you’re taking away. Broccoli gets alittle mushy and oily the longer you delay. Recommend to eat fresh in-store unless you would like to avoid the BBQ smoke and loud crowd.

Absolute value for money! Amazing value for money opening promo. They have an individual set menu for $9.90 which gets you a soup base of your choice (from Tomato, Mala, Mushroom, and Golden Chicken), a protein of your choice (from fish, chicken, and pork), rice, and a vege platter. The set also entitles you to the free flow sauce bar, appetisers, drinks, and ice cream! Legit damn value for money. There's even a grill at every table for you to grill the skewers and such, and we decided to just grill our proteins and some of the veges since the sauce bar had that really nice chinese skewer seasoning that I don't know exactly what is inside but I love. Overall, a really fun and satisfying meal that only cost two of us $26.80. Head down before this fantastic promo ends!

Authentic Sichuan Steamboat Had the chance to try this authentic steamboat place right in the city centre! The staff was very hospitable and the ingredients were all very fresh. I can say that the tomato soup base was one of my favourite so do give that a try if you like tomato soup!

Would highly recommend! 1 for 1 main dish, used on garlic marinated meat. $29 in total for 2 people with a lot of food,👍🏼

Le Thai Mookata We are currently having some serious withdrawal symptoms from our recent (food) adventures in Thailand and so glad to be invited by the folks behind @lethai.sg to a mouthwatering and authentic Mookata feast ~ If you're not familiar with Mu Kratha (often spelled as Mookata) which is “pan or skillet pork" in Thai, is a combination of Korean barbecue and Chinese hot pot. We tried the Twin Platter and added some items like the Sirloin beef, Smoked Duck, Crayfish, Prawn, Scallops etc. from their ala carte menu. The quality/variety (generous portion size too) of the platter was perfect and had a great selection of meat, seafood plus veggies. Our faves would be the Sirloin beef which melted in our mouths, the juicy Prawns/Crawfish and the well-seasoned chicken/pork. The homemade dipping sauces were the bomb (literally), they have a nice kick/heat to 'em which were so addictive and complimented the various meat/seafood. This place is also conveniently located at a Food Centre, only a couple of minutes away from Tai Seng Mrt. Had a bad experience but they can be better Yet another bad experience 😥 We went to Thirteen BBQ Bar in search of good Chinese BBQ but they just fell short of expectations... Firstly, there was alot of confusion. Confusion in making the order between us and the waiter, and confusion in the kitchen in executing those orders. Food went to the wrong tables and some items didn't come. I tried to tell them our rice didn't come but they ended up double charging for the rice when the bill came 🥲 Secondly, food was just churning out too slowly. The food items came out with too long intervals and we were mostly waiting. We ended up frustrated and told the waiter to pack the rest of the unfinished orders to go. Saw another table that did the same too... Thirdly, the food was mostly mediocre. The skewers were really small and tough. Only the fried noodles ($8) was worth a mention. The noodles had a good texture, it was flavourful and well stir-fried due to the slight smoky aroma in the noodles. The staff were indeed apologetic, but I think there is really a need to relook at their processes. They have the potential to be better!
