Lunch menu comes with free flow green tea!
The serving size is quite large, especially with the rice (I think there’s even free flow rice haha)
Batter for the pork was light and fluffy unlike other places. Can truly taste the difference here.
The Pork Nasu Miso Set ($16) from Raku Raku (30 Duxton Rd) is my go-to Japanese comfort food - the seared eggplant, bell peppers and thinly sliced pork belly are coated in a savoury miso sauce which goes really well with rice. The portion is also quite generous. Can’t go wrong with this if you like eggplant!
So so good, every aspect of the dish was delicious; Loved the truffle, and the egg was perfectly done as well! Really not cheap @ $25/bowl (now increased to $28) so 1-1 was a really great deal. Will return as long as there’s BB to use :’)
Location wise - Not the most accessible as it’s a rather long walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT and was a bit hard to locate @ night.
I always end up ordering the same thing at Raku Raku - the very affordable and tasty Chicken Karaage Set ($13)! Although the fried chicken is not super crispy, it is very tender and flavourful and a squirt of lemon juice keeps the jelakness at bay:) It may not look like a lot but it is actually quite filling. Accompanied by rice (free-flow!), miso soup, side dish and salad, it makes a very simple but satisfying meal.
Chanced upon this restaurant a few days back while exploring the Neighbourhood. Affordable set lunch served here with no crowd. got the tempura udon which was pretty decent; the shrimp was fresh and huge and the batter to shrimp ratio was 💯 I Guess you could say it ain't a shrimple affair.
