Pork Tamago Onigiri Honten (America Village)

I was excited to try the special menu here, as each Pork Tamago Onigiri location has its own unique specialty. In America Village, I had my heart set on the Garlic & Butter Steak, but unfortunately, it was sold out. 😢 So, I went with the Shrimp Mayo Special instead. Despite the initial disappointment, I still enjoyed the meal, especially with the beautiful and calming sunset view. The vibe here is totally lit! Swipe left to see the sunset, it's absolutely amazing.

The onigiri was packed with flavour and was made up of savoury SPAM luncheon meat, a thick piece of eggy tamago, three succulent shrimp coated in light crispy batter, rich mayonnaise, and fluffy pearl rice all wrapped in a large sheet of seaweed. It's big and can get a bit messy, but that didn't stop me from devouring this salty, flavourful treat. Simple, but so tastisfying!

The bus tour made a brief stop in America Village for those of us who wanted to end the trip here (like me). The perk is that you get to explore the area, but the downside is you’ll need to arrange your own transportation back. There are public buses, but they're slow, about every 30 minutes to an hour, with the last one around 9 pm. So, I recommend researching beforehand. If you’re not comfortable, stay on the tour bus and head back with the group, but you'll miss the beautiful sights and lively atmosphere here!
