Nico Cafe (Wheelock)

A pretty pretty place to chill after shopping 🛍️💅🏻

What we had:
+ Guacamole with cherry toast
+ Guacamole Tamago Sando
+ Coffee brûlée

I only liked the ambience and the service. The toast tasted…normal. Not sure why it is chef recommended. Need to improve the menu. The coffee was good tho. ☕️

Where can you find cafe mains under $15 in town? Tucked in a nook of Wheelock Place, resembling a forest within a city, Nico Cafe blends the worlds of literature and lattes within the pages of captivating bookstore, while serving up affordable cafe fare. We were really impressed by their food and if you’re here, we definitely recommend their:

(brioche, parma ham, truffle honey, roma tomato)
4 triangles of perfection, that look unassuming but wowed us with the flavour profile! 🤤 The cheese was so generous that it was almost the same thickness as the ham and we absolutely loved it. The truffle fragrance, honey sweetness, savory ham&cheese, coupled with the fresh bite from the tomato, made the dish really very enjoyable. 🫶

This croque madame was essentially a ham cheese sandwich with a beautifully grilled cheese crust atop the thicc ?sourdough bread, topped with a perfect sunny side up egg. The yolk was runny and made this dish even more indulgent. Ham and cheese could never go wrong and if you’re looking for something more filling, this would be it!

The rest of our group also ordered their 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗶 ($𝟭𝟰.𝟵𝟬) and their 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗶 ($𝟭𝟰.𝟵𝟬). There was high praise for these!

Do note that Nico Cafe is mostly outdoors ☀️, which can get kinda warm 🥵, but if you come here with good company it shouldn’t mar your experience 😌 If you prefer to sit indoors, certain items can be consumed inside the air conditioned . We will definitely be back, and looking forward to trying their drinks!
