Another combination of ingredients with the 4-Egg omelette consisting of pork bacon, ham, sausage and cheddar. The Station combination is for meat and cheese lovers and you also get plenty of carbs to go along with a choice of the house fries, roasted potatoes (a whole potato!), rice and white or brown toast. Everything is freshly prepared and served warm, while the waiting time isn’t too long which is great.

The Station omelette is nicely done, but my gripe about it is the cheddar cheese which hardens into a solid slab really quickly. Perhaps a different cheese or a little restraint with the cheese might work better. It’s also a little salty on its own because of the amount of processed meats in it, but this goes well on top of toast. The roasted potatoes are lovely too. They’re seasoned with some herbs, salt and oil, and roasted so there’s a thin crispy crust on the surface. It’s also soft and chewy inside.

Apart from the hearty breakfast options, the black coffee is also refillable and pretty decent. Markham Station restaurant is definitely worth dropping by if you’re around the area. They’re open 24 hours, and they’re pretty legit. The diner is clean and not grimey or shady, plus the service is nice, friendly and relatively quick!

Pro tip if you’re staying at the Travelodge at Milner Business Court - ditch the hotel breakfast as it’s the same small poorly-prepared spread everyday. Just walk 8 mins to Markham Station Restaurant for a far more fulfilling and satisfying breakfast. You can even get a takeaway box for items that you can’t finish and want to take on the go.

From the All-Day Classics at the 24-hour diner Markham Station Restaurant. There’s just so many choices for you to customise your meal - here we had the 2 eggs scrambled, with sausages, home fries and brown toast.

You can choose how you want your eggs to be done, and after trying the scrambled eggs, I wouldn’t recommend them. They’re dry, so an omelette or fried egg would probably be a better choice. However, the sausages were good as they weren’t too salty, oily or fatty, yet still retained their tenderness. They are really generous with their carbs here, with both potatoes and toast offered in one dish. We tried both the potatoes (home fries and roasted potatoes) with different dishes and both were great. Pictured here are the home fries which were a little crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. They were lightly seasoned and salted, so the taste is good for breakfast. Whichever potato you choose to go with your meal, you’re probably good as they do both well. The toast is lightly buttered and served warm, which is great. Nothing special, but it’s always comforting to have a hot breakfast available :)

A 24-hour diner located in the Scarborough area with tons of all-day breakfast options, including a very affordable ‘Catch the Early Train’ meal from 6-11am with 3 eggs, a choice of bacon/ham/sausage, and home fries/roasted potatoes/rice. The only downside of this is that there are no substitutions.

I went for the Four-Egg Greek omelette substituted with egg whites (+CAD1.49) which comes with feta, tomatoes and spinach (requests for no onions). This comes with potatoes or fruits, and white or brown toast. We also added on a Southern Ontario specialty - Peameal bacon (3 pieces for CAD4.99). The omelette was fantastic - they definitely don’t scrimp on the fillings and there were tons of feta inside. The omelette was also well-cooked and not rubbery nor runny. The peameal bacon was tender and not too salty. It went perfect on a piece of toast, with the lettuce and tomato. Overall a very satisfying breakfast, with great service. Might be a bit pricey after all the substitutions, but you can also get an affordable and hearty meal at CAD6.99 if you aren’t picky and dine between 6-11am!
