Carnivorous Cravings
Free flow Australian 100-day grain fed prime rib steak š® here at @dallassingapore Suntec City Sky Garden on weekends for only $35++! The prime rib is seasoned and slow roasted for 15 hours before it is grilled. āŗļø
Hell yeah! Lavastone Steakhouse has opened an outlet at PasarBella @ Turf City. It is located at the new extension.
The steaks do not come cheap though, this 200gm M4 grade steak costs $58. I feel that price point would be an issue for most people. Maybe including normal ribeye steaks might draw more crowd.
Red and (medium) rare and absolutely yummy! Thanks mum and dad for bringing me out for a treat on a Monday!
This is to replace my old camera which sadly died while I was Hokkaido. Spending New Year's Eve with good friends! Hope you are having a great one too!
It was even better when the Chef let us eat it in the kitchen hot off the grill š with some salt sprinkled over it. Reminds me of Chinese ē§č (roasted meat), crisp and slightly charred on the outside but oh-so-juicy and tender on the inside.
The three of us ordered Black Truffle Angus Ribeye Steak ($38). A huge slab of 250gm Angus Ribeye with generous amounts of fresh truffle sprinkled on top. ā¢
The steak came with a choice red wine, black pepper or mushroom sauce. While I liked the black pepper, I felt that the red wine sauce complimented the steak better. ā¢
The doneness for the steaks were inconsistent. My dad ordered medium rare and got well done, while I ordered medium and got medium rare. ā¢
If this is your first time here, you have to try their speciality which is the BBQ Pork Ribs ($19). You have six marinades to choose from and the Honey Mustard is a winner. ā¢
Also, the sides here are all pretty good. As we were ordering, this customer told us that the coleslaw here is the best he had in Singapore. ā¢
By the way, this is the second time I'm trying 1-1 offers from @grabzsg and so far so good āŗļø
The doneness was more medium than medium rare as ordered. Overall, I find the portions at this restaurant a bit small but food generally delicious.
Love the asparagus purƩe, and olives with sundried tomatoes that accompanied the steak. The steak is tender but portion is quite small for me and wait for food is rather long. Think the kitchen might be understaffed.
We tried a few of the new items on the menu: Charbroiled Hanger Steak (200gm, $25.90), Barramundi in Lemongrass Cream Sauce ($24.50) and Chili Kicap Manis Chicken ($25.90). The steak while not a usual cut you find in Singapore, isn't all that impressive. It also arrived rather rare and lukewarm (I honestly didn't take very long to get this picture taken). The lemongrass wasn't exactly discernible in the barramundi sauce.
On the other hand, the chicken was impressive. The local garlic chili kicap manis sauce was very flavorful and the chicken was tender.
It's a fatty cut so it was very tender and juicy. I paired it with the Wild Mushroom & Truffle Cream sauce which was superb! My sis who didn't order a steak kept stealing my sauce. Did I mention that you get to choose your steak knife at the beginning of the meal?
220g Australian Angus 150 Day Grain Fed Tenderloin ($62) with Green Peppercorn Sauce.
Love the smokey charcoal smell as soon as I stepped into the restaurant. Their cuts are dry-aged between 14 to 36 days in a custom designed Himalayan salt tile cabinet.
One of the best steaks I've had in Singapore so far. Their Wild Mushroom & Truffle Cream sauce is a must try! So is their Mashed Potato with Truffle Oil!
However, after my review during Restaurant Week, the restaurant contacted me, not through my Instagram, but the personal email I left on the review page. I was invited back for a meal with a friend because they pride themselves on good food and service.
So here I am, back at The Chop House for lunch. I must say I'm impressed by the tenderloin today. Very tender and juicy, and the caramelised onions were fantastic. Maybe it was just #restaurantweeksg.
