Flavourful and tender 49-day dry aged A5 Miyazaki Wagyu sirloin. Highly recommended!

Chanced upon this casual bistro in the heart of the financial district. The ambience was informal enough to relax with a nice meal (and chill with a drink) but also fit enough to seal a deal with a meal as well!
We ordered a few sharing plates to start with. The fried baby squid was crispier (and chunkier) than your usual calamari. It was meaty on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and went very well with the spicy aioli which was actually slightly on the downside as it wasn’t at all spicy. We also tried the spicy salmon dip, which was also not spicy at all. The dip had a hint of otah taste, but the bread crisps was the star of this dish as it was huge and crispy too! The last sharing dish we tried was the Japanese oysters, which was to us pretty unique. The spinach mixed with the grana padano complemented well with the oyster to bring out its freshness.
On to the mains, I tried the recommended Irish Duck Confit with sweet potato mash, spinach and chickpeas. The skin was well seared to retain the flavour and the meat was not overly cooked, hence the tenderness was just right. Went well too with the mash and spinach to give the dish a rounded taste.
For dessert, we tried raspberry cheesecake parfait, with raspberry sorbet and chocolate crumble. This was the best part of the entire meal, and the combination of the sour sorbet, with the chocolatey cheesecake just rounded up the entire meal experience. I was tempted to order a second but there was no room left!
Overall, good value for money and a fuss-free dining experience!

A brand new restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. Nice, clean and pleasant atmosphere and the food was unique and delicious too. the popiah, stir-fried noodles and the crab with glutinous rice are a must-try!!!
