Don’t pay too much attention to the quaint and old-fashioned décor and furniture. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Singapore. Delightful flavours, even if there is no innovative ‘nouvelle cuisine’ dishes here. Excellent service - friendly, proactive and helpful.

For 30 years, we have been visiting Samy’s several times a year, including on Deepavali for a deeper valley experience. Except for the superb fish head curry, the food is only average. However, the ambiance is vintage 70’s, and service is friendly and efficient. Prices are no longer low, but still reasonable, especially for the Dempsey area.

Had our Diwali/Deepavali lunch here. The best thing about this place is the service - friendly and efficient. The tandoris are quite good, the curries and cooked dishes very meh. There are many better and better-value Indian restaurants around.
