tried their tasting menu for dinner and was super blown away by the quality of the food and the service of all their staff!
standouts of the night for me were the prawn toast, octopus, jumbo tiger prawns, and aged kingfish loin. while the freshness of the seafood really made the food shine, the condiments really helped elevate the dishes! all elements tied together perfectly to make a fantastic meal. ☺️
• prawn toast and aioli: crispy, umami, juicy — super yummy! everything on it made it a perfect bite. the aioli was one of the best i’ve ever tried!
• octopus, assam pedas hummus, renkon chips: personally a huge fan of octopus, and the fresh tentacle made for the most tender and flavourful dish. i never knew assam pedas hummus would go so well with octopus!
• jumbo tiger prawns, sakura vermouth, burnt leek oil: the biggest, juiciest prawns i’ve ever had. grilled to perfection, served with the most amazing combination on sauces. the leek oil, while mild, provided a fantastic flavour nonetheless!
• 16 days dry-aged kingfish loin with green goddess: my favourite dish of the night. they served half with green goddess and the other without, and i can’t seem to pick which one i prefer. never knew fish could have such a rich flavour. the fattiness provided the creamiest of textures, and the simplicity of the entire dish helped make the fish stand out even more. i don’t think i’ve felt so upset about finishing a plate of food in a long time!
i could taste the love and care put in for each dish, and enjoyed learning about the love one prawn and co’s owner has for food. the card given to us at the end was, while unexpected, a welcome and pleasant surprise that we treasured a lot! 💌
service-wise, staff members were very attentive to our needs and requests, and we had a great experience as we felt like we were in good hands :-)
highly recommended for people seeking out delicious new flavours and fresh, good quality ingredients! ⭐️ we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
tried their batang seafood soup (~$9) and their red grouper crayfish soup with prawns (~$23) for lunch.
both dishes were really delicious, packed with generous portions of fresh seafood (not to mention thick cuts of fish and their big prawns) and big chunks of minced meat (which had a pleasant chew thanks to some fat & chopped up mushrooms)! the star of the show though was definitely the soup, which was sweet, light, and refreshing. could definitely hold its own as a dish by itself, although it definitely complemented all the ingredients very well. :) preferred the red grouper crayfish soup more as it was slightly sweeter from the additional crayfish, but both were really good!
would definitely recommend, and i’ll be coming back next time for any seafood soup cravings.
