So glad I got to experience dining at Miraku under the skilled guidance of Chef Ivan. Omakases are not just about great food; you're also taken on a culinary journey! What an experience!
Here are some of the highlights other than the delicious fish:
1. Beef Chawanmushi - talk about smooth and silky and the beef.....WOW, the tenderness, the melt-in-the-mouth experience...I am going to be dreaming of this for a while. Truly a brilliant take on chawanmushi!
2. I love uni so of course, the uni sushi was definitely a star! Fresh and creamy, YUMZ!
3. Tamago - Miraku's tamago is seriously mindblowing!!! How can tamago taste and feel like a cake?! amazing really - truly a testament to their skill and attention to detail.
Great service, great food, what's not to love?! Thank you Miraku!
Got the Treasure Trove set for my parents to try and here are my thoughts:
Hokkien Dumpling with Eggyolk (my personal favourite): The rice was cooked flawlessly!! Perfect balance of tenderness and firmness. Just..YUMZ. The meat was also tender and succulent. Just a suggestion though, as someone who likes my sauces, I wish it came with some sort of chilli sauce to elevate the experience further.
Overall, recommended!! 😁
First thing I have to comment on is the great service by the staff at La Savoir. Especially Rosa! 🥰
Ambience: Luxurious, perfect for romantic dates!
We ordered 2 starters and 2 mains - the butter board, mushroom soup and Scallop Risotto and Smoked Duck Pasta.
My favourite dish of the evening definitely has to be the Smoked Duck Pasta. The dish was beautifully presented on the Hermes plate, which added to the overall aesthetic of the meal. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the yuzu cream sauce was deliciously tangy, complementing the smoked duck and orange flavours.
Of course, we had to order La Savoir's signature Butter Board. 🤤The board featured three different types of freshly made butter, each with a unique flavour profile. My personal favourite was the spiced shrimp butter.
The mushroom soup, on the other hand, was a comforting choice. The soup was perfectly seasoned, and the mushrooms were perfectly cooked, resulting in a rich and satisfying flavour. I especially loved that La Savoir added to the dining experience by serving the bowl of mushroom and cordyceps separate from the soup so customers get to experience the waIter pouring in the soup from a sauce jug. It would have been great if we had more soup, though! 😋
Overall it was a great modern fine-dining experience. I hope to be back to try more mains from the menu!
