Here’s the brand new edition of the classic Shihlin Mee Sua for Lunar New Year, topped with abalones and a choice of its broth in the original flavour or mala spicy! I must say I was surprised by the mala flavour, it had a lingering numbness to it with a good kick of heat. I’m still a bigger fan of the original though. These are available for a limited time till 28 Feb 2024!
Decently comforting bowl of soup that had a mix of squid and pork balls. A little pricey, but the size of the squid and pork balls themselves were quite substantial.
Similar to our Pork Belly Rice ($6) bowl, the rice here was unfortunately too mushy. What was nice here though, was the pretty fragrant and flavourful sauce that paired nicely with the chicken slices.
Not sure if it was an off day when we went, as the rice was unfortunately too mushy. The Lu Rou Fan fell short of expectations with its lack in flavour, and its meat to rice ratio could be much better balanced. Would recommend the Scallion Oil Chicken Rice ($6) instead!
First time at 8degrees for Taiwanese food! You can catch them at 3 locations: Serangoon, Sembawang & Jalan Besar.
It was hits and misses for us in terms of the food, what we thought is the highlight is their wallet-friendly prices alongside the variety they offer. Their Sesame Cold Noodles and Scallion Oil Chicken Rice were the ones we enjoyed more. The sesame noodles were nicely chewy in a sweet nutty sauce.
