Stepping into @cafekreams is like traveling to a Korean autumn wonderland, and we knew it was the real deal when we noticed that almost all the customers that day were actual Koreans

We were lucky enough to snag the coveted window seat (without any prior reservations) for a quick post-lunch break

Not my usual go-to for cake flavours, but it did surpass my expectations! The dark chocolate and vanilla cream layers were light and spongy while the fresh fruits on the side made it feel less like a guilty pleasure

The matcha latte was more on the subtler side, so it was nice that there was an additional piece of matcha and white chocolate to add a sweet kick. Not sure if I was supposed to melt the chocolate in the drink, but I paired each bite with a sip to avoid the overwhelming sweetness

Tucked away from the main streets of Balestier, @wheelersyard is a retro bike café housed in a giant industrial warehouse 🚴

Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or a quick snack, there's bound to be something to satisfy your every craving

Bursting with umami goodness, this light bite went super well with our 🍺 The crispy cauliflower florets were coated in a light beer-infused batter and topped with a generous sprinkle of furikake

Really enjoyed this refreshing IPA from Archipelago Brewery, which was crisp with tropical hints (tip: you can get one pint for SGD10 with every order of a light bite)

The tender sous vide chicken breast was beautifully garnished with crunchy roasted hazelnuts and shio konbu. The accompanying grilled corn added a delightful smokiness while the mashed potato was ULTRA creamy 🤤 But the pièce de résistance was the hazelnut milk foam, which harmoniously tied all the flavors and textures together

Topped with sweet caramelized banana, a colorful array of assorted fruits and a scoop of vanilla (or chocolate) ice cream, the thin heart-shaped waffles were buttery with a crispy golden-brown exterior and drizzled with luscious caramel sauce, just PURE BLISS 👏🏻

The three-storey cafe in Tanjong Pagar oozes contemporary style and I would recommend going up to the 2/F for a more comfortable environment. The 1/F seating areas lack air con while the 3/F attic is cosy yet a little too dim for your insta photoshoot

The HK-inspired menu is quite limited as they pride themselves in being the ‘World's First Bolo Bun Concept Store’. We waited around 10 minutes before the buzzer rang for us to self-collect the foods and drinks near the cashier.

I don’t usually dig bolo buns (btw bolo means ‘pineapple’ in Canto, but just refers to the resemblance instead of actually containing any fruit), but this has got to be hands down THE BEST ever compared to the ones I’ve had in HK

The warm bun itself was a textural delight with the outer crust being ultra crispy while the inner was soft and pillowy. The huge cold slab of butter in the middle was such an indulgence, but really elevated the entire taste

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨
The Singaporean samosa twist was actually way better than I expected, but sadly it was a little too spicy for me to eat more than two bites. The aromatic curry scent was soooo tempting though

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐤 𝐓𝐞𝐚
They managed to make this drink very authentic and silky that I kind of felt that I was in HK for a second. However, I have to admit that HK-style milk tea is an acquired taste for me and I don’t normally prefer the bitter aftertaste

We decided to visit @commonmancoffee and tried to skip the lunch crowd by arriving at around 1:40pm, but still had to wait for 2 tables 🥲 The sizable place was full of people both indoors and indoors with a never-ending queue (they don’t take reservations) 🫣 Prices were not cheap, but (almost) everything was damn delicious and the huge portions left us walking away super full 🤰

Found on the lunch menu served from 10am to 5pm, this was SO GOOD! We loved how the unique beetroot BBQ sauce added a sweet tanginess to the juicy beef patty while the herbed fries were so flavorful that we didn’t really need any ketchup 🍔🍟

𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤
The all-day breakfast menu had so many options we wanted to try, but we finally decided on the creamy buttermilk pancakes that came with a seasoned butter, which was absolutely sensational 🥞 Dipping the crispy bacon into syrup was SUCH a guilty pleasure and we probably ate more than we should have 🥓🍯

This looked super aesthetic but was a little disappointing in terms of taste, as the icing made the cake a little too sugary and artificial 🥴 SKIP!

The 🍌 flavour was actually quite prominent over the peanut butter while the consistency was thinner than what I expected 😲 Still enjoyed this though!

There was a huge range of regional coffees that you could pick after scanning the QR code on the menu ☕️ As a non-coffee lover, this flavour that my friend chose was probably the best I’ve ever tasted, as the hints of bergamot and apricot made the slow-brew not bitter at all 👏🏻 Plus the coffee tasting card was also super cute~

🔸 Iced Chocolate SGD6.5

This was one of the first cafes that I visited when I first arrived in Singapore a month ago ☕️ I was in the buzzing Orchard area searching for a quiet place to work and randomly came across a nearby branch of @alchemist.sg on Google Maps 🗺️

Tucked away on the rooftop garden of @shopdesignorchard where you can watch the world go by, the botanical cafe offers a limited menu of coffee and pastries 🌿

There were quite a lot of people popping in and out when I came on a weekday afternoon, but the minimalist space did not feel packed with each table placed quite far apart 🌱

I got myself a cup of iced chocolate, the only non-caffeine drink on the menu, and enjoyed the milky sweetness that covered the natural cocoa bitterness that I dread 🍫

In terms of work-friendliness, there is no limited dining time and the easy-going employees even proactively poured me a cup of water every now and then 😇 The only snag was that there was no free Wi-Fi in the cafe or nearby…
