Wine Bars
Situated along the row of shops in the Duxton Hill area lies a cozy wine bar/bistro known as Praelum. It is a gathering spot for most of the sommeliers and wine lovers to enjoy delicious and hearty food served lovingly by the local chefs here and also great selection of wines that is priced affordable! Where can you find a great place to wine and dine that doesn’t hurts your wallet especially in the CBD area. The team of service staff here are all well equipped with a wealth of wine Knowledge and you can even opt for a flight of 3 or 5 depends on your taste for adventure and these people can bring you to Europe or any part of the wine producing world from the glass itself! The must try food here is a Tart Flambée which is a local dish from the Alsace region and it does have 3 combinations of flavour to choose from.. we went for the bacon, onion and egg and it’s just so well made with that salty and sweet taste and texture all in the arms of a thinly made crust! Just super addictive and a must to have when you’re in Praelum!
Located in the bustling CBD area of Boon Tat street, here lies a small and quaint little French wine bistro that exudes a very relaxing vibes that is just so inviting that will attract you to have some cheese platter (if you’re a huge fan of cheeses) or maybe the pride and joy of French cuisine; Croque Monsieur (LQV version). Inside this little bistro, you will spot that they are a very wine centric place which has a dedicated wine cellar room located in the restaurant itself and you can have a look and pick your own vino for the night to enjoy with that delectably good cheese platter! We went for a wide selection of their cheese platter ($30) and also a bottle of the Arbois, Jura white that is just an amazing pairing for that evening! The staff is really friendly too and ever helpful! So it’s a great spot to have some nibbles before dinner or even perhaps just to discover some interesting wines to relax with!
Nestled in the rows of shops within the Holland Village area, there is a little quaint heaven for wine aficionados and also for the wine geeks at heart! The best part is that the moment you opened those heavenly gates are the never ending wall filled with rows of surprising gems of famous wine producing regions and also not so known producers with affordable pricing! You are welcome to have the option to takeaway or just enjoy a glass or two from the exclusive range of wines by the glass with a pretty decent price to match that entices you to sit back relax and enjoy that glass of vino along side it’s wonderfully curated menu that just proves too tempting to pass it out on!! So we had one of their latest dishes the bone marrow and the chef recommends it to order a side of bread just to spread that collagen all over the bread for you to enjoy it’s intense flavours!
