Japanese
The only real innovation in this dish is the addition of ikura, everything else was par for the course. Not too heavy-handed on the butter which I appreciate but still feels like I overpaid.
Didn't think I was the kind of person to pay $16.50 (after GST) for a sandwich but WOWEE. 2 tea eggs are nestled in hearty potato salad, and a generous slather of that tangy truffle mayo/aioli is balanced out with some crisp veggies, all stacked between buttery shokupan. My first sando & definitely not my last.
From the same people behind Takeshi-san, Ohayo Mama-san serves a nice variety of japanese/fusion finger food and tapas. Think sashimi capriccio, shrimp baskets, gyoza, poppadoms. Happy hour is till 8pm and while they have hard alcohol, the cocktails are hella fun too. With the ongoing 1-for-1 tapas promo, it's a solid place for your friday night drinks.
