Hawker Eats × Char Kway Teow 炒粿條
A sinful messy plate of greasy black gooey noodles loaded with beansprouts, cockles, fishcake, lup cheong and lard. The noodles were moist and leaned more on the sweeter side with a tinge of wok hei 》$6
Clean tasting and guilt-free for those who are health conscious. This is supposedly the healthier version of CKT with vegetables, no Chinese sausage (lup cheong) and no pork/lard. It comes with the usual cockles, prawns and egg, topped with chye sim and crunchy fried whitebait. The vegetables were blanched and tasted rather bland on their own. A portion also seems to be smaller compared to any other stall. Add-on ingredients are also available for cockles, prawns, fried whitebait and vegetables for $0.50 - $1.50. Eggs are however not available as an add-on option 》$4.20 / Small
The never-ending queue is the reason why this has been on my wish list forever. I knew it was finally time for me to try when I was early on a weekday morning for work. This has got to be one of the shiokiest CKT in SG. The CKT served here leans towards sweet and savoury with a good amount of crunchy bean sprouts in there. Very sinful and definitely worth the cholesterol 》$4
Sinful CKT with eggs, cockles, chinese sausages, fish cake, bean sprouts and vegs. It would be better if there's more wok hei to it 》$3
This CKT is different where it’s does not have the sweet tasting dark sauce coating. The $4 portion comes with prawns and the mandatory cockles on top of the usual chinese sausages, fishcakes, eggs and beansprouts. If you are looking for a sweet and savoy CKT then this might not be the right choice for you 》$3
The stall owner does everything on his own from taking orders, frying each plate of CKT individually and collecting payment so you need to factor in more waiting time should you be in a rush for time.
Comes with crunchy bean sprouts, chinese sausag, lots of eggs and dark sweet sauce giving a lovely taste and texture》$4
Always wanted to give this a try but there’s forever a snaking queue during the lunch hour. Finally decided to join the queue with the cold, chilly rainy weather and it was a 20 mins wait. The owner does everything on his own from taking orders to frying.
The CKT here is different from our usual ones with thick black sweet sauce but it’s fully loaded with bean sprouts, cockles, eggs, fish cake, lup cheong, prawns, chive and lard. Perfect wok hei with the right spice level 》$3
Day 5 post wisdom teeth surgery meal. Finally something tastier other than porridge and mee sua *Achievement unlocked* 😉 》$4

Finally get to try Lao Fu Zi char kway tiao. I've been wanting to try their char kway tiao previously but the queue is quite long.
It smells good when it's served to me but I find the taste to be quite average. I prefer the sweet dark sauce of Char kway tiao. Lao Fu Zi offers both black / white char kway tiao at the smallest plate for $4.

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
