@ginettsingapore is a perfect spot to impress your half other with its ambience and the quality of food served. We had the Wild Mushroom Risotto and dare I say it is one of the best that I have had. The earthy tone of the mushrooms was complemented well by the savouriness of the cheese and the colourful pops of vegetables helped to clean your palate for the next bite. Amazing.

We also had the Croque Monsieur which could get a little bit jelak. The portion size is huge and while the first few mouthfuls were great, it gets a bit one dimensional after a while, the fries were great though! Recommend that you share this if you are ordering it.

Where is your go to place when you crave for some authentic China Chinese cuisine? We finally tried 东北小厨 along Upper Cross Street after passing by it for a couple of year 😅

Stepping into the eatery is like stepping into a teleportation machine that instantly teleports you into China! It looks like a Chinese eatery, smells like one and sounds like one too. Talk about authenticity!

The Hot & Sour Shredded Potatoes and Szechuan Spicy Popcorn Chicken tasted exactly like the ones that I got in 🇨🇳 Step into this China away from China if you are craving for authentic Chinese cuisine.

CNY feasting continues until the 15th day so… come feast like a king this with the Prosperity Buffet at Food Capital, @grandcopthorne.

Dive into auspicious dishes such as Yusheng topped with fresh salmon, maguro & hamachi, Shanghainese Style Noodle with Abalone & Spring Onion Oil, Gan Xiang Prawn with Chilli and Curry Leaves, alongside with unlimited servings of Seafood on ice, grilled and roasted meat, signature Claypot dishes, desserts and many more!

Normally, I wouldn’t use the word “hearty” to describe vegetarian food but this definitely fits the bill. The Herbal Mushroom Hotpot certainly warmed the soul and the use of Charcoal actually elevated the fragrance of the soup. We also love the deep fried wanton that came with the hotpot; so much so that the staff told us not to publicise it too much in case his chef gets angry! 🤭 Each wanton is handmade by the chef and comes chockfull of ingredients before before deep fried to perfection. Don’t worry about it being soggy in the hotpot, they were still crisp when we dug into it!

We also had the Xing Hua beehoon and I must say that despite its humble appearance, it tasted pretty good, especially after mixing in the seaweed, which lends a more savoury touch to the beehoon. A smart move by the chef! And of course not to mention the generous portion as well as the amount of ingredients it came with.

We also tried the Crispy Roast “Pork” which confused us a little 😅 handmade from crispy soy skin and lion mane mushroom, this really resembled its actual counterpart. Pair it with the sweet sauce and wrap it with the lettuce and you get a different form of enjoyment. 2 tastes in 1 dish!

The Sweet Potato Ring was something different that we had. Usually this would be a yam ring but the restaurant had a different take on this traditional dish.

Overall, a really good vegetarian place that I will visit again if I’m craving for vegetarian or if I’m dining with friends who are vegetarian/vegan.

sourced from the finest Japanese Wagyu genetic, this was so good on its own but when paired with the bone marrow jus reduction, this was simply divine

marinated for 48 hours with a cardamom & thyme rub and sous vide for 72 hours, this melts into a delicious caramelization when grilled. You get every cent of your money back with each bite of the succulent pork. The black garlic puree flavoured with dill oil went marvellously well with it

cooked in lobster broth for sweetness with lashings of crab meat in each bite; no wonder that this is one of the signatures here

this dish was one of our favourites of the night! Salt baked beetroot smoked for peatiness served over a river of peas and pistachio emulsion sounds like a weird pairing but every element of the dish went superbly well

Marinated for 24 hours with mint & coriander seed, topped with fresh ikura smoked over your choice of woodfire, & red snapper fish floss made in-house. This was a combination of sweet and savoury that excited my tastebuds. The smokiness of the ikura added a perfect finishing touch.

What goes best with porridge? Savoury foods, of course! At Goldleaf, a family restaurant which serves Taiwanese Chinese food since 1971, there are plenty of comforting and savoury food items to choose from to go with their sweet potato porridge.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary, the restaurant is offering an ala carte BUFFET promotion with 50 dishes to choose from, at just $50 for 2 pax on Mondays to Thursdays. Value for money!

- Curry Leaf Chicken
- BBQ Pork Bun
- Steamed Siew Mai
- Dessert

The curry chicken was flavourful and super homely while the riceball dessert was excellent! I would order many helpings of it!
