very filling and hearty! filled w greens, brown rice, tortilla chips, guac, pulled pork and sweet corn tied all together with a zesty sauce. Pulled pork was mainly sweet, lacking of spices so i think this dish is nothing much to rave about.
goma was v interesting! it had a black ssm cream on top with a salted caramel lava and matcha sponge inside! everything melded quite well together but the matcha sponge was overwhelmed by the black ssm cream and black sesame.
oolong was underwhelming....tasted like hojicha honestly with lychee sponge and lychee bits. Wish the lychee was more bc all i could taste was the 'oolong' mousse.
oolong was very underwhelming,
tried the hojicha petit gateau [$8.80] and the matcha hojicha iced latte! [$6.50 arnd there] the roasty hojicha flavour was definitely present, but i wish the sweetness can be toned down a lil as it got abit too gelak at the end. However, i really loved the chocolate hojicha ganache and fluffy cake layers inside, paired with the crumble above - it's very good. It would have been perfect if not for the sweetness 😓
the hojicha matcha latte had a good blend between both components - but i regretted not getting it unsweetened as i like my matcha on the bitter end !! Could'nt finish the drink though, it was abit too thick and sweet with the hojicha syrup at the end partially cuz i didnt stir properly hahahaha
served untoasted so it wasn't flaky, soft and as crispy as it could have been. the matcha ganache was quite good though....earthy and bittersweet and lovely!! really a pity as the cruffin could have been much better heated up and the matcha ganache could have melted and potentially become even more bittersweet and rich!
Lola's has always been popular with people, and did it live up to the hype? YES.
The pulled pork benedict was done well, perfectly runny eggs and the pork was tender and super flavourful and moist. The sourdough toast at the bottom eventually got abit soggy with the pork juices but i don't mind! The portion was surprisingly filling as well!!
the place was jam packed with people so highly recommend making a reservation before you visit!!
