Like your noodles spicy? Look no further than Chuan Hung along Telok Ayer Street for numbing and peppery Sichuan Braised Beef noodles. Burppler Ems Huang says "both the clear broth and spicy broth has its unique taste, and you can also choose your choice of noodles". Cool down after your meal with the Liang Fen ($3.50), a cold bean jelly that complements the hot broth. Burppler Irene Arieputri also likes the Fried Crispy Intestine ($5.50), which is "clean and not smelly. The addition of leek stuffing is genius!"

Chase away Monday blues with a visit to Hana Hana, Teppei's second Tras Link outlet. Come for their Monday lunch special — the famed Kaisen Don ($17.60) served with a free scoop of Negitoro alongside refillable side dishes such as stewed meat and potatoes or bean sprouts tossed in soy sauce. Burppler whollyhonestreviews "loved the clam in the Kaisen Don, and the fact that the sashimi are all in thick chunks." Try to get here around noon to snag a seat!

If you haven't tried the bagels from Two Men, prepare to be blown away by their hand-rolled babies. You'll find quick and easy Thai lunch sets (from $9.90) at this pretty China Square restaurant, which also has sister outlets in AXA Tower and Asia Square. Think sets like Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken Floss and Chicken Tom Yam Soup, or Green Curry with Mini Omelette over rice. Burppler Judy Choong calls this a "very pleasant lunch place with spacious seating to take in the lunch crowds yet not give diners the 'suffocating feel'.

Love dumplings? Burppler Nat N. thinks "other than being super affordable, these dumplings were really one of the most delicious I've eaten in Singapore." Order them together with the tasty noodle bowls. Burppler Han & Ko, who tried all three versions said the Sichuan Pork Noodles ($8) "was the BEST. It had a small spice kick to it, definitely suitable for those who don't really take spice." Dumpling Darlings also has some good beers on tap, if you're into a quick mid-day tipple.

At Muchachos, the burritos are ridiculously reasonably priced for what you're getting. Starting from $12 a pop for fillings like Carnitas (pork) and Pescado (fish), you can also get the fan-favourite California Burrito ($13.50), which sees steak and fries inside. Burppler halfeaten also likes the Steak Quesadilla "which was warm and cheesy, with chunks of juicy steak." Like fried chicken? Burppler Foodie Foodier recommends the Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($12 for 2 pcs).

There are sandwiches, and then there are Park Bench Deli's sandwiches — generously filled, cleverly put together and packed with punchy flavours. Choose from a menu of 10 sandwiches — but really, whatever you pick is probably going to be good. Burppler Rachael Lim says the Mushreuben ($18), which uses chewy sourdough bread, was "refreshing and light in terms of palate thanks to the pickles and mushroom." She also likes the Chicken Katsu ($14), which "is so well seasoned and I haven't had such a unique texture of chicken anywhere else."
