This egg tart was so huge compared to my palm but definitely NOT! ENOUGH! Was craving for more even when I finished š buttery crust thats comparable to Tai Cheong but alittle thinner! its thin-ness complemented very well with the mildly sweet egg custard. Every mouthful is a heavenly balance of butter crust and smooth egg custard š definitely climbing to 2nd in my list of favourite egg tarts (after TC) š¤
I don't think this needs any more introduction! Despite the slightly inconvenient location, we went there on a rainy weekend afternoon and thankfully the queue was relatively short! But alot of the flavours I wanted to try were sold out by then as well, like the famed black smm š nevertheless we had the peanut, yam and coconut one and we really regretted not getting more.
Peanut - chunky peanut paired with chewy mochi like akk skin š (ahma didnt like how chunky it was but i LOVE it)
Yam - ahma loved this!! It was a smooth yam paste kind of texture that isnt too sweet and just melts in your mouth together with the soft akk skin āŗ
Coconut - coconut was pretty average actually? I couldn't remember how the coconut tasted but guess it meant it didnt leave much of an impression :/
Definitely going back to try their black ssm and green tea next time š
this was a hefty biscuit! While i loved that the biscuit was very buttery, similar to those of pineapple tarts, it was alittle oily š the filling was good nonetheless! The buttery biscuit did overpower the yam but the salted egg taste complemented well still :) would prefer the black sesame over the yam one as it definitely had a stronger taste š for $1.80 per smol piece š° (2 for $3), it's a good once in a while treat i guess?
