Delightful Desserts 🍨
This café has been on our to-go list for the longest time and we are glad that we finally got to try their signature molten lava cookie! We ordered the kooks signature lava set which came with a chocolate molten cookie and a single scoop of ice cream of our choice – brown butter! 😍
It was so satisfying seeing the gooey molten chocolate spilling out when the scoop of ice cream hits the warm and soft cookie~ The cookie was super buttery and goes perfectly with the nutty and carmalised flavours from the brown butter ice cream. Having both hot and cold sensation from the warm chocolate lava and ice cream in one bite was quite an experience and we totally love it! However, we felt that the molten chocolate might be a bit too sweet for our liking. I think we would be opting for the matcha lava cookie the next time we visit!
After a hefty dinner in Bedok, we decided to take a stroll to Fatcat Ice Cream Bar for some dessert to satisfy our sugar cravings. We ordered the brown butter waffle and a scoop of tiramisu ice cream to go along. Like any good waffle, this was super crisp and fluffy. It has a slight hint of nuttiness that goes perfectly with the salted cameral sauce that was artistically drizzled around the waffle. The tiramisu ice cream was super rich and creamy with hints of espresso and a slight kick from the coffee liqueur. We would definitely recommend people who do not like their ice cream to be overly sweet to try this!
The smell of thyme that fills the shop is so welcoming! Also, it’s very interesting to see the service crews preparing the fresh cones in front of the customers. The flavours we tried here are black sesame & midnight gianduja (chocolate-hazelnut). Love how the ice cream were not that sweet and milky, so they felt really light and kinda refreshing. Unlike other typical cones, which can get soggy really quickly, these cones still stay crispy till we finished the ice cream. Would highly recommend choosing the cone over the cup!
These pancakes look amazing! 😍 I think they really nailed the presentation. We ordered 4 stacks of millefeuille pancakes for sharing, the pancakes were warm, soft and melt in your mouth. They were very filling even though two of us shared a plate, so it’s highly recommended to go for lesser stacks if you are not a big eater.
