Old-Skool Waffles
This sweeheng in particular has one of the nicest pandan waffles - it’s fragrant, chewy and crisp! Goes really well with kaya. However, it depends on the person making it, as it wasn’t as good when we tried it again some time ago.
This is similar to bakery cuisine’s Kaya Pandan waffles, but it ranks lower as it was less soft and chewy. Not a terrible waffle, but not one of the better ones either.
This was chewy and very slightly crispy at the side, but less chewy & crispy than mk’s. It was a little floppy since it’s not that crispy, but overall still a satisfying snack!
I love Raffles Place MK’s waffles but I realised that this outlet’s waffle is different from the outlet at Raffles Place. Nonetheless, it was satisfying. Hot, slightly crisp at the edges, with just the right amount of brown kaya.
A crisp, warm and satisfying waffle with a wonderful pandan aroma. There’s a good balance of crisp outside, soft inside! I like this with either kaya or chocolate (the choc is not the low quality chocolate coin kind which tastes plasticky).
This waffle was quite crisp, with a thin batter (similar to creamy duck’s (NTU can 2) & not like the mk/sweeheng kind). Kaya was not bad. There was a very slight savoury taste but otherwise I couldn’t taste the coconut part?
