Meat
Very enjoyable meal at value prices.
The beef burger would not have been out of place at a higher end location.
Highly recommend their aglio olio pasta as a side. You'd be happy to have that as a main dish as well.
Most western places give you overcooked pasta with a drizzle of olive oil, but skinny chef's was full of flavour.
Silence is golden chicken is their specialty, but i found it normal compared to their beef burger and pork chops.
Good value, this restaurant is a sister brand of astons.
Plenty of seats on a sunday afternoon, with nice natural light.
Meat patty (not pictured) was huge without batter being too thick
The chicken was super tender and not dry at all. Not very accessible but its a good hidden gem.
Also tried the laksa pasta and it was literally that - pasta in laksa gravy.
Wanted to try their ice cream but was too full.
Great value set lunch, especially since its available on weekends too.
9.90++ gets you a main, drink and soup.
But waiting times can be a bit long. We waited about 30 mins for our food.
And i'd recommend you ask for less salt in the comments. But this could just be my tastebuds.
It’s.. interesting. Good interesting, I think. The sauce reminded me of that used in satay. The chicken was placed atop a yam ring which tasted pretty similar to those you get at Chinese restaurants. The result was a nice mix of flavours.
Steak was very tasty, and ribs fell off the bone. And the chicken was moist and tender too.
Nice relaxed place especially with the sea breeze.
But pasta portions are a bit small, and place is quite inaccessible unless you cycle or drive
Every juicy bite of chicken thigh was bursting with flavour despite the well grilled char on the skin. Went home to google "jerk chicken recipies" after i was blown away by the tanginess of the sofrito sauce.
The restaurant's background music also made for a relaxed vibe.
Great service too who took the time to explain the nature of each dish and what made each one special.
A worthy meal to celebrate the easing of covid restrictions.
Claypot beef
Had generous amounts of beef in there. Sauce is very thick. Ive never been to Taiwan before so I'm not sure how it compares.
Available on burpple 1 for 1.
Sweet Soy Pork Ribs ($30++)
Liked how the marination of soy sauce, garlic and honey (i think?) resulted in a sweet tangy sauce.
Ribs were also very well done, falling off the bone easily
Didnt think the chili relish complimented the rest of the dish though.
Ask to sit inside as the acoustics are much better. Outside can get a bit noisy and warm.
Wagyu beef semur ($20.80++)
Decent dish, but nothing to shout about. About 5 pieces of beef in the dish.
Would recommend the prawn bostador ($20.80++) instead. Prawns in that dish were very fresh and juicy, coated with very fragrant luscious lemak gravy.
They've also got this tasty sweet fish pickle. You've got to pay for a second serving fyi.
Bauernwurst ($20++)
Sausage is bursting with flavour, and the potatoes have soaked up the juices from the sausage so that each slice is well seasoned.
Ribeye 250g (19.50nett)
Second time here, and am always impressed by their sides. Fries are exceptionaly crispy without being oily, while mac and cheese has layers of complexion.
The steak is pretty good too, getting their medium rare texture spot on in terms of juiciness.
It may be located in a hdb area, but dont let that fool you. Make sure you call ahead as the place can get crowded.
